Overview
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer in design review and construction related to structural works of the project.

Responsibilities- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges/viaducts works and associated items.
- Coordinate the Resident Engineer's direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the bridges section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
- Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues.
- Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
- Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
- Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
- Convene and chair special meetings with the service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors and other parties related to his work.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
- Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
- Act positively, and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.
- Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer to issue site instructions with respect to utilities works and associated items.
- Check and measure the performed work in his line of work, record and assist the Resident Engineer to display progress vs. programmed work.
- Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within his line of work.
- Keep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the structural works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary final clearance.
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in construction supervision of operation and maintenance of bridges and underpass is necessary.
- Should be able to review and justify the material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project's specifications.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with an excellent capability in written technical skills.
- Experience in all aspects of civil supervision of major bridges and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region is preferred.
- Engineering consultancy experience within UAE/GCC is preferable.

What You'll Be Doing:
Coordinate, execute and manage site supervision, design review, planning, project monitoring and testing & commissioning.
Advise Project Management Team and the Client on technical matters related to procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of all mechanical equipment.
Attend all tests in factories and at site required for successful completion of the project, and handing over of assets to the relevant authorities.
Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements, and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
Identifies and documents changes in scope. Assists in determining the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project buy outs, monitoring progress to maintain those procurements.
Interfaces with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate the bid process. Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project with other Project Engineers.
Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
Assists the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study.
Assists in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.
Ensures client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.
Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.
Prepares technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution.
Minimum 10 years experience in site supervision, design review, planning, project monitoring and testing & commissioning for large scale infrastructure projects.
Prior experience in construction supervision of pumping stations, firefighting systems, chilled water network and utilities for projects is a must.
Fully conversant with the authority requirements (DEWA/DM/Civil Defense) and processes in the emirate of Dubai.
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
Excellent written and oral communications skills in English.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution.
Minimum 10 years experience in site supervision, design review, planning, project monitoring and testing & commissioning for large scale infrastructure projects.
Prior experience in construction supervision of pumping stations, firefighting systems, chilled water network and utilities for projects is a must.
Fully conversant with the authority requirements (DEWA/DM/Civil Defense) and processes in the emirate of Dubai.
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
Excellent written and oral communications skills in English.
