We are currently seeking a seasoned and technically proficient Manager – Engineering Services with 7–10 years of core experience in the design and engineering of GIS and AIS Substation Projects , with voltage levels up to 380kV . This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of both pre-bid and post-award engineering deliverables, with adherence to international standards and client specifications.

Note: Gulf experience is mandatory . Preference will be given to candidates with Saudi Arabia project experience .

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Bid / Proposal Engineering

  • Review and analyze tender documents , technical specifications, and project scope.

  • Develop conceptual Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) , equipment layouts , and general arrangements .

  • Perform preliminary BOQ preparation , equipment sizing, and quantity take-offs (CTs, PTs, Breakers, Disconnectors, etc.).

  • Optimize design for space utilization , cost efficiency , and constructability .

  • Coordinate with estimation/proposal teams to prepare comprehensive technical proposals .

  • Interface with OEMs and vendors to obtain technical specifications, datasheets, and pricing.

  • Identify technical risks , potential deviations, and value engineering options.

  • Provide technical clarifications during the bidding phase and support client presentations .

2. Detailed Design & Contract Execution

  • Lead and supervise the preparation of detailed primary design drawings , including:

    • General Arrangement (GA) Drawings

    • Equipment Layouts

    • HV Equipment Interconnection Diagrams

    • Earthing & Grounding Layouts

    • Busbar Design and Calculations

    • Cable Trenches & Routing Plans

  • Perform equipment sizing and selection for HV/EHV components (CBs, CTs, PTs, Isolators, Surge Arresters, etc.).

  • Conduct mechanical and electrical clearance studies in line with IEC/IEEE/IS standards .

  • Collaborate with secondary engineering , civil , and protection teams for interface coordination.

  • Participate in design reviews , client meetings , and technical workshops .

  • Support material procurement by finalizing BOQs and technical specifications.

  • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with international codes , utility standards , and project timelines .

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Must have Gulf experience ; Saudi Arabia project experience highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Bid Design

+ This position will offer you the opportunity to work as a senior technical engineer involved in the design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems for projects ranging from existing plant retrofits to new generation installations.
+ You will be involved in power distribution designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services needed to support the projects.
+ Assist project manager in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications
This position is UAE based.
Essential skills and experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering program is required and an emphasis in power systems is preferred.
+ 7 or more years of experience in power plant design particularly Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facilities and/or SWRO Desalination plants, with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities.
+ Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
+ Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
+ Experience performing calculations in ETAP.
+ Experience with international codes and standards including IEC and NFPA.
+ Technically knowledgeable of available electrical power distribution equipment.
+ Experience with physical design including raceway and equipment layouts.
+ Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role and the ability to manage multiple tasks / projects at once.
+ Experience in reviewing other engineers' design calculations and drawings.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
+ Engineering consulting experience and strong client relationships with MENA/CIS clients.

Stantec is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic site team and support on a construction supervision project in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for various projects, including street lighting, power cables, substations, telecom
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to gather information and assess project requirements
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for electrical systems
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other project team members to ensure coordinated and integrated design solutions

Stantec is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (Healthcare) to join our dynamic site team and support on a construction supervision project in Dubai.
Some of the key job responsibilities of this role entail the following:
- Monitoring the Electrical scope of works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
- Reviewing, approving and processing all Electrical technical submittals.
- Answering RFIs related to Electrical scope of works.
- Coordinating and supervising the work of all MEP activities and operations.
- Reviewing contractors Electrical change order proposals and preparing recommendations to MEP PM.
- Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
- Reviewing contractors claims related to Electrical works and preparing recommendations for claims.
- Reviewing the contractors project record documents relevant to their discipline.
- Managing the Electrical inspectors.
- Analyzing laboratory and testing reports.
- Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the Electrical works.
- Signing off on completed Electrical works with completed documentation.
- Perform all other duties given by MEP PM.
**Qualifications:**
- Must have a minimum of Fifteen (15) years total experience with Four (5) years in Construction Administration in UAE, and Five (5) years in the Middle East.
- Must have Healthcare design and Supervision experience
- Experience working within an International Consulting Firm
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
