Senior Environmental Consultant Job

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team in the UAE. As a key member of our environmental consulting services, you will be responsible for delivering high-level consultancy services to major oil and gas clients and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and author large-scale environmental, social, and health impact assessments (ESHIA), strategic environmental assessments (SEA), and environmental and social due diligence audits.
  • Facilitate and chair technical workshops and brainstorming sessions with clients and stakeholders to identify impacts and mitigation measures.
  • Lead BAT and BACT assessments based on internationally recognized tools for oil and gas and industrial projects.
  • Consult with stakeholders and manage sub-consultants effectively.
  • Attend meetings and workshops with authorities as part of the ESHIA approval process.
  • Manage tenders working with other specialists within the team and RSK departments for submission.
  • Prepare and deliver internal training in their field of expertise.
  • Maintain client relationships for business development and continuity.
  • Support the team by providing technical oversight and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering discipline (preferably chemical engineers).
  • Over 8 years previous experience in environmental consulting, including permitting support, environmental monitoring, management planning, compliance audits, modeling, and site assessments for energy, industrial, and infrastructure clients in the Middle East.
  • Specialist in a particular discipline – air quality, GHG protocols, climate change, noise, soil, and groundwater.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IChem, IET, IEMA, or equivalent) – chartered or working towards chartered status.
  • Excellent understanding of the ESHIA process, international environmental and social legislation, guidelines, and standards.
  • Experience in chairing environmental impact identification (ENVID) workshops for oil and gas industry and other industrial projects.
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams working on various environmental inputs across projects.
  • Experience in negotiating with regulators to achieve the best environmental outcome for clients.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Our Multi National Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Sustainability Consultant to join their team in Dubai to work on new build projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Sustainability Consultant working on similar projects in the UAE. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 month contract position hire as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting. Requirements

Sustainability Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sustainability assessments and implement green building strategies
  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals
  • Provide technical advice on sustainable design and construction practices
  • Preparation and quality control of the green building design documentation as well as project specifications, calculations, plans and submittals
  • Prepare, review, and update CEMPs in compliance with EAD and other local authority requirements.
  • Conduct regular site-based CEMP audits to ensure adherence to environmental commitments.
  • Coordinate and manage the submission and approval process with EAD for environmental permits, NOCs, and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE environmental laws, EAD regulations, and project-specific environmental conditions.
  • Coaching of junior staff.
  • Business Development support
  • Communicate and network with new potential clients and contacts
  • Contributions to regional publications, lectures, and teaching
  • Personal development and plan to develop necessary skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Proven proficiency in sustainable design principles and green building certifications
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in sustainability and environmental management in the UAE or GCC.
  • Proven experience in CEMP preparation, implementation, and auditing.
  • GCC experience is essential
  • Strong knowledge of EAD requirements, procedures, and approval processes.
  • Familiarity with environmental standards and regulations.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and graphical presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills for keeping up with fast-paced settings.
  • LEED AP BD+C credential required, in addition to PQP.
  • Project Management and Project Accountability
  • Strong written and spoken English, Arabic language skills preferred.
  • UAE Driver's license required.

Preferred:

  • Environmental auditing certification (e.g., ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or NEBOSH EMC).
