We are seeking an experienced and skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements related to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure implementation of environmental management plans (EMPs) and monitoring programs in line with local laws and industry standards.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and ensure mitigation measures are applied effectively.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities for environmental approvals, permits, and audits.
- Perform site inspections, audits, and risk assessments related to environmental compliance.
- Monitor air, water, soil, and noise pollution levels at project sites and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure sustainable and environmentally sound practices.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local and federal environmental laws, especially those relevant to the rail and infrastructure sector.
- Provide environmental awareness training and support to project staff as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in environmental engineering, with at least 2 years specifically on large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE environmental regulations, permitting processes, and regulatory agencies.
- Experience working with international standards such as IFC, ISO 14001, and ESIA regulations.
- Excellent reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
- Must be currently based in the UAE.
- Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
- Strong English communication skills (Arabic is a plus).
