As a Technical / Design Manager - Geotechnical , you will be responsible for leading and managing the design process through the project lifecycle. Work closely with our clients, design consultants and other stakeholders to ensure the projects objectives are met in line with our client requirements and expectations.

You will assist the Programme Director/Design Director or Senior Project Manager in ensuring that our scope of works is delivered to AtkinsRéalis and client's expectations

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the geotechnical design team.
  • Develop and review geotechnical designs, reports, and specifications.
  • Conduct site investigations and analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate geotechnical solutions into the overall project design.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team during project execution.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources related to geotechnical activities.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and mitigate geotechnical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with environmental consultants to assess and manage environmental impacts related to geotechnical activities.
  • Develop and implement innovative geotechnical solutions to optimize project performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of geotechnical systems and structures during construction and post-construction phases.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members to enhance their geotechnical knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide expert advice on geotechnical matters.
  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving of all geotechnical data and reports.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering and incorporate best practices into project designs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on built environment projects in UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and foundation engineering.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W).
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience with large-scale construction projects is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with advanced geotechnical testing methods and equipment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in geotechnical engineering.
  • Experience in managing geotechnical aspects of projects in diverse geographical locations.
  • Publications or research in geotechnical engineering.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) or ISSMGE (International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering).
  • Proficiency in additional geotechnical software tools and modeling techniques.
  • Strong networking skills and ability to build relationships with industry experts and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • 10-15 years in design manager experience on hospitality projects
  • Bachelor's or master's adegree in architecture
  • Experience is LEED would be beneficial.
  • Previous working experience in the region, preferrable in Saudia Arabia
  • Able to work in a team environment and be client facing
  • Active leadership style

Are you ready to take on a career-defining challenge in metro system infrastructure? **Parsons** , is seeking a highly skilled **System Architecture Specialist** to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of an advanced system architecture for a metro project. This role encompasses the entire lifecycle of metro system development, from conceptual design through testing and commissioning, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of all subsystems, including signaling, telecommunications, power supply, automatic fare collection (AFC), and operations control systems.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in metro and rail projects, technical expertise in system architecture, and a strong track record in testing, commissioning, and validation of complex infrastructure systems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **System Architecture Design** :
+ Develop and document the overall system architecture, ensuring alignment with project objectives, operational requirements, and stakeholder needs.
+ Define system interfaces, integration strategies, and data exchange protocols for critical subsystems such as signaling (e.g., CBTC), telecommunications, AFC, SCADA, and power systems.
+ **Requirements and Design Management** :
+ Analyze project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for system-level design and performance.
+ Ensure end-to-end traceability and compliance with contractual, operational, and regulatory requirements.
+ **Integration and Interoperability** :
+ Lead the integration of hardware and software components across subsystems to ensure seamless interoperability.
+ Establish integration protocols to align signaling, rolling stock, passenger information systems, and control systems.
+ **Testing and Commissioning** :
+ Develop and implement testing strategies and commissioning plans for validating the system architecture and subsystem integration.
+ Oversee factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and system-level commissioning activities.
+ Ensure all testing and commissioning activities meet safety, performance, and operational standards.
+ **Technical Leadership** :
+ Provide expert guidance to multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and vendors, to ensure adherence to the system architecture design.
+ Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues during design, testing, and commissioning phases.
+ **Compliance and Standards** :
+ Ensure system design, integration, and commissioning activities comply with international standards such as IEC, ISO, IEEE, and EN.
+ Collaborate with safety and cybersecurity teams to ensure robust, secure, and resilient system operations.

As a Spatial Planning Technical Lead in WSP Development, Planning & Urban Design team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership on major spatial planning and master planning projects, and developing the technical capabilities of the wider Development, Planning and Urban Design team
+ Provide technical leadership for major spatial planning, master planning and development projects in KSA, ensuring they align with client expectations, local regulations, and WSP Quality and Ways of Working requirements
+ Deliver comprehensive and well considered reports and presentations to clients, partners, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of project goals and progress.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, developers, and clients.
+ Lead and be at the forefront of efforts and initiatives to place WSP DPUD team at the leading edge of industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory changes and spatial planning and design approaches .
+ Ensure compliance with KSA's urban planning and development regulations and industry best practices.
+ Lead, manage, mentor and develop the WSP DPUD planning and design team in KSA, promoting professional development, knowledge-sharing, training programmes and initiatives to grow and evolve skillsets to meet business, client and project requirements.
+ Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and securing projects in urban planning and development.
+ Bachelor's degree in spatial/regional/urban planning or a related field (Master's degree is advantageous).
+ Member of a globally recognized spatial / urban panning professional body (e.g APA, RTPI, etc)
+ Minimum 15 years post qualification experience in spatial planning projects, with significant experience working in KSA and the wider Middle East.
+ Proven record in leading large-scale development projects and managing multidisciplinary teams, with evidence of leading at least 3 major spatial planning related projects in the past 5 years.
