Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for a talented CAD Technician - Roads to join our award-winning team based in Dubai, UAE.
This critical role will work as part of the Infrastructure team, developing and preparing drawings in CAD format (especially in Civil 3D) for roads and transportation in the different project design stages.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Producing technical drawings and/or 3D models for Highways/Roads and Grading.
- Preparation of swept path analysis for roads, service roads around and vehicular entrances to buildings; and assessment in parking areas.
- Producing Circulation Plans for Transportation projects.
- Drafting of interchanges, intersections and roundabouts covering both major and minor roads.
- Liaising with Engineers about the information required, the coordination between different disciplines and project progress.
- Collaborating and coordinating with other disciplines to achieve a fully integrated design.
- Converting concepts and sketches into engineering drawings based on the project requirements.
- Developing workflows for various stages in design and submissions.
- Leveraging BIM software and tools as a methodology to coordinate design progress.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a Diploma in Drafting, or any other related subject. We welcome all levels of experience, preferably with more than 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Furthermore, you should demonstrate:
- Proven experience as a CAD Technician in Infrastructure (roads).

Position Overview:
The Draughtsman will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, as-built documentation, and design modifications for STP and related infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical drafting skills, familiarity with UAE sewerage, drainage, and irrigation networks, and the ability to work closely with engineers, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and revise technical drawings, layouts, and as-built documentation using the latest versions of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Interpret design inputs from engineers and accurately translate them into detailed drawings.
- Review, update, and maintain drawings in compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and quality standards.
- Track and verify existing sewerage, drainage, and irrigation networks in Dubai using as-built records from DS, IRR, and Roads projects.

Assist the BIM Lead, Design Leads, and Engineers in developing engineering drawings including layouts, sheets and component details based on sketches or general design information, following defined standards and procedures Oversee all BIM-related activities throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, with a clear understanding of the BIM modeling process. Collaborate and coordinate with the BIM Manager for design-changes and model challenges Develop Civil3D Templates, Subassemblies and Multiview blocks. Develop and maintain BIM Civil 3D libraries, continually advancing the platforms' efficiency and utilization Develop alignments, profiles, Road Corridors, Road grading, Surfaces Road Singes, Road Markings and to be familiar with creating and consuming Data shortcut. Perform cut & fill analysis and extract quantities from the models. Develop and extract 2D geometry from the models for internal reviews and coordination meetings. Provide progress and performance updates on a fortnightly and monthly basis. Record, store and maintain all formal correspondences related to BIM activities. Support the deployment (hardware and software items) and provide hands-on BIM software training for project team members. Ensure Project Information Model (PIM) are delivered in accordance with the agreed TIDP, MIDP and CDE protocol. Measure and ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with project standards and requirements. Monitor, perform quality checks and report on the quality of as-built models.
Utilizes technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company
Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
Understands how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and supplier/manufacturer drawings.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum five years demonstrable experience in the drafting experience on infrastructure projects.
Must have experience on the use of computer aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD. AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with good capability in oral and written communication skills;
Computer skills and the ability to utilize design software

Job Purpose overview:
Translating conceptual and strategic master planning visions into detailed technical drawings and documentation. This role will support the creation of accurate, high-quality plans, layouts, and diagrams that contribute to the development of large-scale masterplans. The Draftsman will assist in preparing site plans, zoning layouts, and public realm drawings, ensuring they align with project objectives and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Master Development team, the Draftsman will provide essential drafting support to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
New Masterplan and Vision Support
- Contribute to Vision and Conceptual Master planning: Support the development of high-level masterplans by preparing initial drawings, layouts, and diagrams based on the team's vision. Help translate conceptual designs into visually coherent representations.
- Site Analysis & Spatial Planning: Assist in the creation of site plans that reflect the development's broader vision, spatial strategies, and land-use planning, ensuring that all elements align with project goals and constraints.
- Collaborative Visioning Sessions: Participate in team discussions and workshops, providing drawing support during the visioning phase to communicate design ideas and masterplan concepts clearly.
Support in Producing Detailed Drawings
- Development of Technical Drawings: Prepare detailed architectural and site plans based on the finalized masterplan concepts, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to regulatory and design standards.
- Zoning & Layout Drawings: Produce detailed zoning plans and land-use diagrams that reflect the final development strategy, including public realm spaces, infrastructure, and circulation networks.
- Refinement of Masterplan Components: Assist in the development and refinement of key components within the masterplan, including streetscapes, green spaces, and development parcels, ensuring that all design details are captured accurately.
CAD Support
- CAD Drawing Support: Use AutoCAD and other CAD software tools to produce, update, and maintain detailed technical drawings for master planning projects. Ensure accuracy, scalability, and alignment with project requirements.
- Organize and manage all CAD files and related documentation, ensuring that all files are properly labeled, stored, and accessible for internal and external team members.
- Coordination with Consultants: Work closely with consultants and other team members to update and revise technical drawings based on their feedback and requirements, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in architecture, engineering, or related field
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD
- minimum of 6 years of UAE experience as draftsman in the Mater planning and Real Estate industry or Government.
- Strong command of CAD software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools used for creating detailed technical drawings and plans. The ability to efficiently produce and update drawings, as well as manage large-scale project files, is essential.
- Ability to produce highly detailed, accurate drawings and documentation, ensuring that all measurements, scales, and technical specifications align with design intent and regulatory requirement.
