Responsibilities
Switch Tester with strong expertise in card-based payment systems and transaction switch platforms such as Switch NXT or FIS
Perform functional, regression, and integration testing of card transaction switches (Switch NXT, FIS).
Validate transaction routing and switching across POS, ATM, e-commerce, and other channels.
Conduct testing for debit/credit/prepaid card flows including ISO8583 message validation.
Design and execute test scenarios for online and batch transaction processing.
Utilize simulators for POS/ATM testing and analyze host and acquirer responses.
Validate authorization, clearing, and settlement flows.
Raise and track defects, work with developers to resolve issues.
Perform certification and compliance testing with card networks (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).
Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of switch applications.
Participate in UAT and support go-live activities
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with Switch NXT or FIS (IST/Connex) platforms (must-have).
Strong understanding of ISO8583 messaging format.
Familiar with end-to-end card transaction lifecycle – Authorization, Clearing, and Settlement.
Experience with tools like POS simulators, ATM test tools, Host simulators.
Knowledge of card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay) and transaction types
Desired Skills
Good exposure to defect management and test case management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM).
Ability to analyze logs and trace issues in switch environments.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
