Venture Search is working with a commodities proprietary trading firm based in Dubai, looking for an engineer to join their futures trading desk. You will be part of the team trading European power and gas markets and will work closely with researchers and traders helping them develop models, tools, and analytics solutions.
A large part of your day-to-day work will involve helping analysts take their models to production, and deploy them to the cloud, improving their scalability and performance. You will build and maintain tools to analyze model results, monitor them, and make trading decisions.
You will be involved in automating as much as possible of the whole trade lifecycle (analysis, trading decision, execution, position monitoring, performance review).
On the modelling side, our client uses Julia and Python. On the backend, they use Golang/C#. Our client strongly believes in using the best tools for the job and is open to changing/using new technologies if they allow them to achieve better results.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of working experience, preferably in commodity markets
- Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, NoSQL and one of GoLang/C#/C++)
- Focus on performance and reliability
- Ability to multi-task, and prioritize multiple projects effectively
