Job Description
This position is ideal for a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Surgeon who can provide exceptional care to patients with complex trauma cases. The successful candidate will have expertise in managing pediatric surgical emergencies and delivering culturally sensitive, family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Interventions: Perform life-saving surgical interventions for pediatric trauma cases, including abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, and soft tissue injuries.
- Trauma Resuscitation: Lead trauma resuscitation and surgical planning in collaboration with emergency and critical care teams.
- Elective Surgeries: Conduct elective pediatric surgeries for congenital and acquired conditions.
- Pre-Operative & Post-Operative Care: Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring safe recovery and long-term follow-up.
- Clinical Rounds: Participate in NICU, PICU, and Emergency Department multidisciplinary rounds.
- Patient Education: Educate families on surgical options, risks, and recovery plans in Arabic and English.
Document all clinical interactions using EMR systems in compliance with DOH standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Medical Degree: Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Residency & Fellowship: Completion of residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Pediatric Surgery.
- Subspecialty Experience: Subspecialty experience in Pediatric Trauma Surgery.
- Board Certification: Board certification (e.g., American Board, FRCS-Ped, Arab Board, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in pediatric surgical practice.
- DOH License: DOH license or eligibility to obtain it.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Arabic is essential for patient and family communication.
- High-Acuity Management: Proven ability to manage high-acuity trauma cases in pediatric populations.
