**Title and Summary**
VP, Finance Business Partner, Regional Services
Overview:
Reporting to Regional CFO the VP Finance Regional Services Lead will serve as a financial advisor and business partner to the regional services business teams and will be a member of both the Regional CFO leadership team and Global Services CFO leadership team. The primary objective of this position is to lead and manage all finance elements for the Region Services team. The VP Finance Regional Services Lead will actively participate in the development of region-wide goals and strategies, working closely with the leadership team of Services Finance and with the Region Services Lead as their primary business partner. The VP Finance Regional Services Lead will be responsible for articulating strategic financial objectives, establishing accountability for daily financial management, achieving performance objectives, and overseeing financial reporting, policies and procedures.
Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Strategy:
o Act as the primary finance leader for the Regional Services business.
o Ensure that finance is closely integrated with and actively supports the business, providing managers at all levels with the necessary information to maximize revenue, profitability, and efficiency.
o Work with the management team in the development, coordination, and implementation of short and medium-term strategic and tactical plans to drive growth in the region and provide the financial input required for that process.
o Work closely with Business Development Finance team in building business cases and reviewing new opportunities.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Ensure a common understanding of business objectives and drive achievement of financial results.
o Support budgeting and strategic planning sessions and work extensively with the management team to ensure an accurate forecasting process is implemented.
o Manage financial close, reporting and budget/forecast processes , with direct support from the centralized global FP&A team and regional resources, and provide performance and variance analysis information
- Control Accounting and Financial Reporting:
o Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
o Lead all accounting for the Services region business, including recording all expenses, timely and accurate close, reconciliations, and local currency balance sheet control.
o Ensure the integrity and timeliness of all information to be included in reporting for the business, including statutory and regulatory reporting.
o Work closely with the Region controller and Region FP&A lead to coordinate closes.
o Manage finance staff and supervise third party consultants.
o Maintain a strong control environment by reviewing and approving accounting entries and controls.

- Excellent communication skills.

Working with local agencies on export forecasts, source containers from inbound ships, sellers of used containers, and container leasing companies while ensuring containers meet the ESL quality standards.
Managing the Maintenance and Repair processes and oversee and negotiate all relevant contracts, including contracts for procuring new equipment from manufacturers in China. An optimal container inventory level by size/type must always be maintained, including overseeing, planning and implementing equipment rejuvenation programs.
Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of 17 staff members, ensures the team understands the business goals & objectives & translate them into deliverables according to their roles. Delegates transparently with clarity; coaches and provides guidance, shares knowledges, market information & work with the team as a role model.
- Works closely with local agencies to ensure accuracy on equipment forecasts, manage timely and accurate information and a quick turnaround of containers at ports and inland locations (ICDs).
- Works with vendors to cabotage containers from surplus to demand locations to reduce empty repositioning costs.
- Works with suppliers and manufacturers to procure container equipment on competitive terms and conditions as per prevailing market conditions.
- Manages costs associated with containers' movement i.e. from leasing companies to the port / one-way leasing / selling used containers on one-way journeys. Responsible for sourcing buyers in the market, setting guidelines and the cycle as a whole.
- Responsible for appointing leasing companies and explore SOC empty business opportunities.
- Oversees containers' Maintenance and Repair work quality as per ESL standard, turnaround time and cost as per defined budget. Which involved depot audits, evaluating facilities and the accuracy of repair estimates.
- Negotiates with depots, maintenance and repair vendors and & other related contracts when required.
- Actively reviews & monitors vendors' performance & yet maintains the collaborative partnership in ensuring they perform as per agreed standard.
- Ensures data accuracy of container tracking system to enable the management making informed decisions.
- Works with Process Excellence team to evaluate available software optimization programs for potential deployment and is responsible for continuously optimizing existing processes within the existing system (Genesis).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field. Master's degree is an added advantage.
- 10 years+ experience in container management / equipment flow within the shipping or logistics industry as a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of container management principles, industry trends and global shipping practices.
- Strong business acumen & network in Shipping industry in order to react to market changes swiftly.

**Operational outputs and execution**
Oversee all statistical data/metric relating to team performance, productivity and quality; to include:
+ Active participation in team meetings to communicate current trends and issues
+ Prepare, review, monitor and report to CRIU L2 managers on weekly productivity metrics, and contribute to implementing actions based on reported trends
+ Prepare and produce daily reports on team performance/timeliness through publication of MIS reports;
+ Utilise productivity, quality and performance data to inform capacity planning team CRIU management and UAE AMLCO
Monitor and maintain daily reports in respect of complex case classification, and update Case Management tools accordingly
Where appropriate prepare the required reports and submit to:
+ CRIU L2 management
+ CRIU L 1 Management
+ UAE AMLCO (or deputy)
+ Internal Audit
+ Any regulatory requirements as specified
Monitor, review and report on manual case creation including complex classification and where appropriate report to CRIU management
Monitor, review and report on data concerning case closure to ensure compliance with global policy, monitor disputes and where appropriate report to CRIU management
Oversee team output as senior checker for all questionable activity to include responsibility for developing on-the-job training and coaching programs bespsoke to new hires in respect of execution activity
Act as point of contact to manage data requirements for planned Audit/regulatory reviews and existing open CAPs:
+ Preparing CRIU-related deliverables for audits and regulatory reviews;
+ Participating in meetings with audits, responding to queries, etc.
Maintain and oversight over the operational and technological issues facing the CRIU L2 team and ensure smooth operational process through ongoing automation activity.
Act as the main point of liaison with other units and departments notably CI-CRIU, Fraud, L1 teams in Warsaw and KL
Act as delegate to the UAE CRIU Management in the relevant forums and meetings whenever required.
Review the new policy updates with the UAE CRIU Manager and ensure it had properly communicated and understood by the team members.
This role my also be responsible for:
+ Review AML cases completed by Analysts to ensure that any material AML risks have been mitigated and case documentation is in accordance with the unit's policies and procedures.
+ Carry out SAR Reporting Officer responsibilities by Reviewing/Approving Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) drafted by Analysts consistent with FinCEN requirements.
+ Ensure SAR related regulatory timelines and requirements are followed by the team (i.e., in accordance with CBUAE SLAs).
+ Review/Approve post-investigative actions recommended by Analysts, including relationship termination, Risk Rating Override, and KYC Feedback Loop.
+ Ensure that all errors and deficiencies identified by the Quality Assurance Team have been remediated.
+ Conduct personalized one-on-one or group mentoring sessions to explain processes, red flags, investigative strategies, techniques, changes in procedures, emerging trends and managerial directives.
+ Assist Analysts in overcoming performance related challenges.
+ Lead or assist with ad-hoc AML related projects.
+ Assist management with regulatory exams and other third-party reviews (e.g., IA, CA).
+ Manage/mitigate operational risks by analyzing the root cause of issues and impacts to business, make recommendations to Senior Management on process and control enhancements.

What we’ll need from you
