Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, provides on-site consulting and monitoring of oil well blowout and emergency conditions and assists in drilling operations, as well as, fire fighting, well-killing and other blow out procedures in emergency drilling situations.
  • Confers with both customer and government representatives, as needed, to ensure that company interests are protected and that project completion goals are met.
  • Ensures that well-site activities are well managed, coordinated, and completed in accordance with Company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Advises on specific servicing problems and recommends use of specialized tools, techniques, and services. Equipment usage and maintenance using extensive mechanical aptitude.
Requirements
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering, geoscience, geology, or related discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in well site operations.
  • Must work under hazardous conditions including high pressure, high temperature, loud noise, fire, chemical and gas exposures, moving machinery, etc.
  • Professional relationships with regulators, inspectors, officials, suppliers, and customers are maintained.
  • Well organized with strong planning and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail. Quality orientation. Able to organize multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills. Strong problem solving abilities. Strong PC computing skills, including MS Office and engineering software.
  • Good communication and effective working relationships exist with other departments.

Candidates with qualifications exceeding the minimum job requirements will be considered for higher-level positions based on their experience, additional job requirements, and current business needs. Depending on their education, experience, and skill level, candidates may be eligible for a range of job opportunities, including positions ranging from Well Control Specialist II, Well Control Specialist III to Well Control Specialist IV.

Who are you today?

You are a recognised Subject Matter Expert in Process Safety , with deep technical competence in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and extensive experience applying process safety principles in operational environments.

Your experience and expertise include
  • Extensive practical experience in PHA techniques (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA) – ideally as a qualified HAZOP Chair or PHA facilitator .
  • Proven success implementing PSM systems and risk management in high-hazard industries (Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, or similar).
  • Operational experience in international companies, with exposure across the full asset lifecycle.
  • Credibility from having worked in industry (e.g., operations, engineering, or process safety roles) and, ideally, consulting experience.
  • Strong understanding of the risk dimensions of PHA and the ability to present technical findings as clear, actionable advice.
  • Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills, able to work with both executives and technical teams.
  • Organised, analytical, and outcome-focused, comfortable managing complex projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (MSc or MBA preferred).

As an experienced Project Engineer, you will have expertise in project executions and complex knowledge of project designing of firefighting solutions including Fire Protection (water Based systems), Gas Suppression, Foam, and Alarm Detection Systems within Oil & GAS Sector in the Middle East region. You will develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals, plans, completes technical studies like specification, datasheets, Operation Philosophies, C& E matrix, Procedures etc., cost estimation, and conferring with management. Determine project specifications by studying project design, customer requirements, and performance standards. Manage project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and trends, and recommend actions. Manage the project execution i.e., Design, procurement and installation activities within budget, agreed schedule and exceeding the customer expectations.

What we look for Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project execution of Major projects for Fire Fighting System in Oil & Gas sector within GCC countries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Fire Protection (water Based systems)/Gas Suppression/Foam / special hazard protection and Alarm Detection systems
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Knowledge of project cost management, revenue generation and invoicing to customer
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Material Ordering and Vendor management
  • Responsible for production and issuance of technical documents, drawings, calculation for manufacturing.
  • Must have work experience in UAE/Oman/Kuwait/Qatar within the Oil & Gas sector
  • Proven track record in cost estimate during the design and development process, recommending cost-effective solutions, and ability to produce high quality and impactful professional documents for clients and internal use
  • Fluency in the English language is essential
  • Driving License with ability to travel
