Civil Draftsman – Wind Power EPC

About the Role We are looking for a skilled Civil Draftsman with proven experience in wind power EPC projects, covering the full cycle from bidding and drafting through to execution. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to translate engineering concepts into precise technical drawings that meet both project and client requirements. Key Responsibilities • Prepare accurate civil and structural drawings for wind power EPC projects, including foundations, access roads, substation layouts, and other related works. • Support tender/bidding phases by developing technical drawings, layouts, and design concepts based on project specifications. • Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet technical and contractual requirements. • Modify and update drawings in response to engineering changes, client feedback, or site conditions. • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, project specifications, and QA/QC procedures. • Maintain organized drawing records and documentation for both pre- and post-award phases. • Collaborate with procurement, construction, and quality teams during the execution phase to ensure design accuracy and constructability. • Conduct site visits to verify construction alignment with drawings, identify discrepancies, and propose adjustments.
Requirements
• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related field. • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Civil Draftsman, with at least 3 years in wind power EPC projects. • Hands-on experience in bidding, drafting, and execution stages of EPC projects. • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting/design software; knowledge of 3D modeling tools is an advantage. • Strong knowledge of civil and structural design principles related to wind power projects. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geotechnical data. • Excellent communication skills in English; other languages are an asset. • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Attributes • Middle East or international wind power EPC project experience. • Familiarity with renewable energy infrastructure design standards. • On-site construction support background.

As a Graduate Engineer in the Renewable Energy sector, you will be integrated with the team responsible for managing, overseeing and delivering engineering projects from inception to completion. You shall be involved in technical contribution to the projects as well in managing the projects and stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Address any site-related issues promptly, providing technical guidance and solutions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
- Review project designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Provide input during the design phase to optimize construction processes and materials selection.
- Collaborate with design teams to resolve any design-related issues or modifications.
- Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure construction work meets established standards and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
- Document and report any non-conformities or deviations, and work towards timely resolution.
- Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to coordinate interdisciplinary aspects of projects.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging effective communication and teamwork.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree an advantage).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong technical knowledge in the core discipline i.e. electrical engineering.
- Proficient in softwares/ applications like powerpoint, excel, etc. Familiarity and working knowledge on AutoCad, Power System studies software shall be added advantage.
