Job Description
We are currently working with a large finiancial instituion based in Abu Dhabi, looking for a strong Senior Software Developer - Investment to join their team. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the technical development and enhancement of investment performance measurement and management reporting capabilities, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and insightful analytics. The role involves the integration of various data systems, the creation and maintenance of a performance data mart, and the optimization of SQL queries and technical operation of the investment performance measurement system all critical in monitoring assets under management. This position plays a crucial role in identifying potential risks, developing improvements and enhancements to service offerings, and interacting with management on performance measurement and analysis. The Senior Associate will be responsible for leading new projects, to optimize existing processes, and for troubleshooting any issues that arise. This includes writing efficient code, collaborating with other developers, and providing support to business project teams. Additionally, the Senior Associate will be involved in maintaining and operating existing custom code processes, ensuring the continued efficiency and accuracy of our reporting capabilities.
• Collate, analyze, and document business requirements to support projects, enhancements, and system implementations.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications to facilitate system design and implementation.
• Provide architectural input to the design of new solutions, focusing on supportability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Lead the coordination with IT and vendors for support activities and operational maintenance.
• Create and execute detailed testing scenarios and test cases, including the collation of necessary test data.
• Develop new and extend existing investment performance reports using various development technologies and toolkits.
• Automate the sourcing, transformation, and loading of investment data into various third-party and internal investment solutions, databases, and end-user Microsoft solutions.
• Monitor the integrity and correct processing of any external data feeds, reporting any issues to the relevant IT and Business teams.
• Perform technical and business validation of any data loaded into the investment solutions, ensuring that any data discrepancies are remedied or explained.
• Configure vendor solutions, which can include workflows, screen configuration, data feeds, access rights, dashboards, and reports.
• Raise and monitor software defects with external software vendors and ensure that the issues are tracked and resolved within an appropriate timeframe.
• Perform end-user training and system orientation for new and existing solutions.
• Work on the integration between the Company’s performance measurement system, Company's data warehouse and Company’s data warehouse.
• Develop new codes, scripts, and features using SQL and Python in collaboration with other developers.
Requirements Education • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Technology, Science, Engineering or Finance. • Technical certifications in SQL, VBA and Python • Professional certifications such as CIPM, CFA or PMP preferred. Experience • 8+ years of experience in SQL and Relational Database development, ideally Oracle SQL and Microsoft SQL • 8+ years of directly relevant experience with an asset management, asset owner or asset servicer firm • 7+ years of experience with data engineering concepts for automatic end-to-end collection, transformation, and data processing using ETL and REST APIs • 5+ years of Business Intelligence design and implementation, with technologies such as Microsoft PowerBI, Plotly Dash • 3+ years of experience programming in Python • 3+ years of experience with Cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure. • Experience with specialized financial software such as Bloomberg/FactSet/BISAM B-OneTo view other active vacancies we have, please check our website -
