Stantec is currently looking for a Construction Manager with Healthcare experience to join our dynamic team and support on a construction supervision project in the UAE
Some of the key job responsibilities of this role entail this following:
- To manage the development, incorporation and maintenance of project Health and Safety program.
- To maintain a strict level of compliance, appearance and professionalism amongst Stantec's safety engineers and encourage growth and improvement on project site level.
- Responsible for all Stantec's construction execution and HSE supervision activities.
- Prepares necessary "Constructability" and "Build-ability" reviews.
- Assist the Project Manager in necessary project sequencing and phasing reviews.
- Attends weekly contractor's site logistics, progress and HSE meetings.
- Prepares Construction and HSE parts of Monthly Reports.
- Responsible for preparing preliminary hand over report together with technical managers.
- Assist Project Manager and Commercial Manager with review of all claims, EOT's and in all variations and changes from a Stantec perspective.
- Assist Project Manager with technical managers with the project handover and final walk through.
- Protect and ensure compliance of Stantec's contractual and Authority requirements in terms of health, environment and safety.
- As necessary review and comment on construction documentation related to health, environment and safety.
- As necessary review and comment on site logistic plans and corresponding documentation.
**Qualifications:**

- Minimum 15 years' experience managing construction of large buildings and working with reputable international consultants.
- Candidates Must have previous experience working with a Consultancy
- Healthcare/Hospital facility project delivery/construction experience would be preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines: Engineering or Construction from an internationally recognized university.
- Strong engineering and technical background.
- Understanding of site logistics and HSE.
- Must have integrity and be able to demonstrate both drive and excellent organizational ability.
- Ability to manage potential conflict robustly.
- Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with contractor's site management and site engineers.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle variety of assigned tasks and workload.

What you'll be doing

  • Client Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and expectations.
  • Sustainability and Compliance: Promote and implement sustainable construction practices where feasible, and ensure full compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Project Closeout: Oversee project closeout activities, including inspections, punch lists, and final documentation to ensure a seamless transition to the client.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate project performance and processes, seeking opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a construction-related field.
  • 15+ years of construction management experience in roads and infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
  • Prior experience in overseeing and managing the construction of major projects valued at AED 350 million or more.
  • Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected.

Job Summary
The Project / Quantity Surveyor will lead key elements of the site based post contract delivery of our cost management activities having daily interaction with the rest of the AECOM site supervision team. They will be expected to work well as part of a team and autonomously and know when to reach back to the office / line manager for additional support.
**Job Duties**
+ To achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the firm.
+ Ability to integrate with key members of the design team and Client team.
+ Assist in evaluating claims.
+ Preparation of financial updates and monthly cost reports.
+ Assesses and value progress payments and change requests.
+ Review and compare scopes of work, production rates, and cost data.
+ Preparation of earned value reports.
+ Prepare, review, and update cash-flows.
+ Estimate variation orders for Contractors/Subcontractors.
+ Evaluate and negotiates variations and change orders in liaison with the Contract Administrator, Design and Construction Teams.
+ Evaluate and negotiate final accounts settlements.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Responsible for site Safety health and environment management.
Assist with the preparation of a construction health and safety plan.
Confirm necessary documentation was submitted to the relevant authorities.
Attend project planning meetings. Attend regular site, technical and progress meetings. Facilitate site health and safety meetings.
Establish and maintain health and safety communication structures and systems, distribution of health and safety specific documents to sub-contractors.
Compiling project specific emergency response and preparedness plans
Testing the effectiveness of the emergency response plans
Conduct site safety inductions.
Oversee the reporting and investigation of project related incidents.
Development of technical reports in relation to health and safety issues and communicate through presentations to diverse groups of decision makers.
Client Service Management
Internal and external client liaison
Ability to build and maintain safety environment at site.
Experience in infra project HSE supervision Management.
Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Maintain the health and safety environment at workplace.
**Qualifications:**
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in Operations & Maintenance, preferably in Pumping Station, Construction rehabilitation work and Wastewater background.
NEBOSH IGC level 3 is mandatory and other HSE related Diploma certification. Abu Dhabi Public Health Center Practitioner Course.
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly in the UAE & Abu Dhabi.
