OverviewJacobs is seeking a seasoned and collaborative General Construction Superintendent to join our Conshohocken, PA office, supporting site-based projects across the Northeast. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in dynamic environments where coordination, communication, and execution are key to project success. You’ll oversee daily planning and scheduling at active construction sites, ensuring that teams, materials, and equipment are aligned to meet project goals. Location is Eastern Pennsylvania (Conshohocken office) based – but working on sites: Majority of time based at: West Point PA, Swiftwater, PA Wilmington DE. There is potential to travel to multiple future program sites and across different industry projects including Semiconductor, Data Center, Energy & Power, Aviation, and Water. Huge potential to stay on with Jacobs long term.
Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of direct construction site experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity as a General Foreman, Site Superintendent, or Site-Based Construction Manager
- Strong understanding of pre-design and pre-construction phases, building systems and technologies, contract management, project delivery methods, and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to manage and maintain complex project schedules
- Experience supporting both pre-dynamic and dynamic start-up processes
- Demonstrated success managing industrial manufacturing projects valued between $5 million and 500 million
- Working knowledge of commissioning and qualification processes, particularly related to MEP systems
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering preferred but not required
- Life Science / Biopharma manufacturing facility construction experience
- Knowledge and experience of starting up equipment and systems in manufacturing facility
- Day-to-day management of systems until project turnover
- Understanding of the regulatory process and requirements associated with the qualification of biopharma manufacturing process systems
- Conduct project meetings with contractors and stakeholders
- Maintain official project documentation files and logs
- Perform onsite activities including inspections and walkdowns; may include construction or field administration tasks
- Review submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and other project deliverables to support turnover
- Ensure construction complies with design specifications and drawings
- Support the project management team in change management and monthly invoicing
- Track work in place and construction progression
- Coordinate and manage daily tasks to support project schedule activities and accurate reporting
- Foster a cooperative partnership between client, contractor, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure project success
- Spend 65-85% of time in the field coordinating with Superintendents and Trade Foremen; 10-30% in meetings/planning (project-based adjustments)
- Champion a proactive safety culture by conducting safety walkdowns and reinforcing site-specific protocols
