As a Data Management Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Engineering Department by ensuring accurate, timely, and organized handling of all technical data, engineering logs, submittals, and documentation. The Data Management Officer plays a key role in ensuring data integrity, version control, and traceability across all MEP design, coordination, and construction documentation within the projects.

About Your Team

You will work closely with the Engineering, Procurement, Planning and Construction teams to ensure that all documentation is properly controlled, accessible, and aligned with both project standards and internal procedures. You'll support internal audits, maintain filing systems, and help ensure the seamless flow of information that drives successful project execution.

Your Role

As a Data Management Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain up-to-date engineering document trackers, logs, and registers (e.g., drawing submittals, material submittals, method statements).
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, and Construction teams to collect, verify, and upload accurate technical data.
  • Manage version control and document status tracking for all drawings and engineering documents.
  • Ensure proper archiving of engineering files, both electronic and hard copies, as per project and company standards.
  • Generate weekly/monthly reports on engineering submittal status, approvals, and outstanding items.
  • Support the Engineering Manager by providing data inputs for technical meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions.
  • Liaise with Document Control and QA/QC to ensure engineering data complies with ISO, project, and client requirements.
  • Flag delays, missing data, or discrepancies in logs and escalate for resolution.
  • Assist in the digital transformation of engineering data workflows, supporting tools like Aconex, Procore, or other DMS platforms used on the projects.

What We’re Looking For

Experience:

2–3 years of experience in data/document management, ideally in an MEP or construction engineering environment.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with engineering documents, MEP drawings, and submittal procedures.
  • Proficient in Excel and document management systems (Aconex, SharePoint, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Clear understanding of engineering workflows and submittal cycles.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality of project data.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and basic quality systems
  • Familiarity with project QA/QC requirements, forms, and workflows.
  • Familiarity with construction environment
  • Awareness of HSE practices in a construction environment

As a Data Management Officer, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of project documents and records, ensuring accuracy, timely submission, and compliance with project requirements. You’ll also play a key role in configuring and administering the EDMS, supporting project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders with training and guidance.

Your Role

  • Take charge of project-wide data integrity across Aconex or other EDMS platforms
  • Design and implement smart workflows and processes for smooth data flow
  • Develop live Power BI dashboards to track submittals, inspections, NCRs, and more
  • Extract, clean, and analyze data for performance trends and management insights
  • Train and guide subcontractors and internal teams on proper data input and usage
  • Ensure accurate, standardized data attributes across all systems
  • Support internal QA/QC teams with custom reports and real-time metrics
  • Maintain robust data logs and registers across all key project areas

What We’re Looking For

  • Graduate with at least 3 years’ experience in data management or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of EDMS platforms (Aconex preferred)
  • Proven skills in Power BI and Microsoft Office
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Experience working in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects is a plus

Education and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of total experience in handling data management projects data science machine learning model development within banking and finance sector preferably in Credit Risk domain i.e. Basel II and IFRS 9 Risk models development and implementation risk analytics reporting
  • Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering Information Systems or a related field.
  • Masters degree is preferred

Specialist skills / technical knowledge required for this role:

  • Excellent Credit Risk modelling analytical and research skills.
  • Experience working with large and complex data sets including alternative data (bureau open banking etc.) for credit models.
  • Good knowledge of financial markets and products and aware of the latest analytical techniques including ML algorithms such as SVM Random Forest and Gradient Boosting etc.
  • Possess good knowledge of credit risk management best practices including but not limited to pertinent Basel II Basel III and IFRS 9 Framework on expected credit risk loss credit risk management and capital adequacy requirements.

  • Manage risk data including data capturing organizing storing and analyzing for development validation and implementation of Credit Risk Models and Scorecards.
  • Provide advanced quantitative analytics support to the overall Risk Management function.
  • Formulating management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy accuracy and legitimacy of data.
  • Ensure implementation of risk rating models and scorecards in compliance with IFRS 9 and Basel requirements.
  • Engaging in Risk Architecture projects including implementation of various risk IT applications data analytics data flows standards and processes.
  • Develop and implement AI analytics to analyze risk data use machine learning techniques to identify patterns trends and potential risks including exploration data analysis and data quality trend assessment
  • Ensure all data management and AI analytics practices comply with relevant regulations and organizational policies
  • Project management with ability to execute plans and meet project objectives as well as the ability to respond and resolve diverse needs of team. Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Strong knowledge of Information Technology systems Risk Management systems tools applications and relational database management system software development and ability to code.
  • Role requires independent thinking strong communication initiative interaction with all stakeholders within the bank.

Key accountabilities / responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain data for risk models implementation and scorecards development.
  • Devising and implementing efficient and secure procedures for data management and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
  • Liaise and engage with external vendors and IT team for project implementation.
  • Good quantitative analysis and finance skills experience of working with Statistical Software (SAS/Python/R).
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics and reporting tools and software used (Power BI SAP BusinessObjects SQL Server).
  • Perform data analytics for modelling teams in development recalibration and validation of Risk and statistical models by carrying out data preparation segmentation analysis and testing tasks. Assist with data extraction when needed.
  • Apply techniques such as generative AI classification regression clustering and other related methods.
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.
  • Ensure data quality review and standard checks to assess the data completeness accuracy timeliness uniqueness and traceability.
  • Provide analytics and quantitative support as and when necessitated.
  • Implement data tracking and monitoring tools analyze and validate data ensuring data security.
  • Manage reporting for senior management or regulator.
  • Team player and leader with the ability to work very effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented manner with other team members.
  • A positive work attitude and confident eager and willing to take on new challenges. Must be cooperative with good interpersonal leadership negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Self-motivated detail-oriented should exhibit problem solving skills as well as ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as the needs arise.
  • To perform any other responsibility assigned by Head Enterprise Risk Management Group from time to time.

Education and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of total experience in handling data management projects data science machine learning model development within banking and finance sector preferably in Credit Risk domain i.e. Basel II and IFRS 9 Risk models development and implementation risk analytics reporting
  • Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering Information Systems or a related field.
  • Masters degree is preferred

Specialist skills / technical knowledge required for this role:

  • Excellent Credit Risk modelling analytical and research skills.
  • Experience working with large and complex data sets including alternative data (bureau open banking etc.) for credit models.
  • Good knowledge of financial markets and products and aware of the latest analytical techniques including ML algorithms such as SVM Random Forest and Gradient Boosting etc.
  • Possess good knowledge of credit risk management best practices including but not limited to pertinent Basel II Basel III and IFRS 9 Framework on expected credit risk loss credit risk management and capital adequacy requirements.
  • Possess strong quantitative skills and experience in developing validating and monitoring risk models. Knowledge of the credit scoring systems available in the market and their use.
  • Advanced users of statistical tools and programming languages (such as SAS R Python and SQL)
  • Should have a strong knowledge of handling Risk Technologies & its implementation.
  • Apply techniques such as generative AI classification regression clustering and other related methods.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and/or projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in risk concepts banking products/ operations/ systems pertinent regulatory requirements
  • Flexible team player and able to work and deliver under pressure.

Job Description

This role holder is mainly responsible for the following:

  • Assisting in forming, implementation and execution of business planning & data management for FAB-Islamic
  • Manage the company’s management reporting process including the development, communication and implementation of management reporting requirements and timetables that align with Group management reporting requirements to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support & develop user friendly MIS related (both Assets and Liabilities) to products, Branches, Sales.
  • Responsible for FAB-Islamic incentive calculation & payout and amending the incentives policy on a yearly basis in alignment with Group.
  • Co-ordinate with SALAMA and our group insurance team for customer’s Takaful life insurance, premium & claims.
  • Design and deliver adhoc performance reporting and analytics for a range of business requirements focused on the key drivers of value in the organization.
  • Co-ordinate with group business management team for all kinds of reporting purpose.
  • Co-ordinating with business, support & FCD team in terms of finalizing the budgets, planning, other financial requirements & to support any task fulfilment.
  • Prepare performance appraisal scorecard for higher management staff’s.

Generic Accountability

  • Develop, manage agreed company metrics and key performance criteria linked to strategy and business plans to ensure appropriate metrics are included within Management reporting to support decision making.
  • Prepare monthly FAB-Islamic incentive calculation & payout and amending the incentives policy on a yearly basis in alignment with Group.
  • Monitor the complete business related MIS on a daily, weekly & monthly basis for FAB-Islamic
  • Prepare monthly HF Life Takaful Fee deduction report for FAB-Islamic Mortgage Customers.
  • Review and challenge business performance in relation to forecast plans and suggest improvements or opportunities for FAB-Islamic.
  • Manage the production of accurate and high quality data management, consolidated reporting in required timeframes, including both routine and ad hoc reporting, and ensuring that these anticipate the emerging needs of a rapidly changing business.
  • Support in exploring the potential of FAB-Islamic customers from various dimensions, harnessing through the existing customer base for the cross-sell activities in order to increase the customer product holding and profitability.
  • Develop and produce reporting analytics to clearly identify key trends or issues in the company that necessitate further analysis and discussion.
  • Engaging and liaising with IT & digitalization teams for continues system enhancement and improvisation of FAB-Islamic platform.

Specific Accountability

  • Contribute broadly to strategic and operational priorities, discussions and decisions as a member of the business management team and drive collaboration and sharing of best practice.
  • Monitor on a regular basis, the business performance vis-à-vis budgets (Product, Branch Distribution, Sales)
  • Co-ordinate with SALAMA and our group insurance team for customer’s Takaful life insurance, premium & claims.
  • Co-ordinate with group business management team for all kinds of reporting purpose.
  • Co-ordinating with business, support & FCD team in terms of finalizing the budgets, planning, other financial requirements & to support any task fulfilment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • Masters qualification – Master of Business Administration (MBA) in finance

Minimum Experience

  • 4+ year’s relevant experience in the banking & Financial Institutions sector within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in similar functions.
  • Ability to think strategically and cope with business complexity in high stress situations.
  • Significant exposure to and participation in business and financial planning and decision-making.
  • Highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to bring together diverse data and information and form sound judgments and insights.
  • Highly developed understanding of commercial realities and well developed business acumen.

Candidate should have hands on experience with Microsoft Excel, Power point and Basic Power BI knowledge
