Overview of the role

Act as the lead for the preparation of financial statements and coordination of the external audit for assigned legal entities and territories. Maintain a strong accounting & operational control environment, improve accounting processes and manage business risks through financial compliance. What you will do

Finance Reporting and Controlling

  • Support the creation and ensure compliance with operational accounting policies
  • Perform effective training and management on the accounting procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining the chart of accounts and effectively communicate any changes being made / new accounts being opened with the purpose of use
  • Preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements as assigned by the line manager
  • Support the preparation / conducting Training & workshops for Controls and IFRS standards
  • Preparation of all documentation required for the sign off of the financial statements
  • Performing opening Retained Earnings reconciliation between the financial statements and SAP and other ERPs

External Audit

  • Coordination with the external auditors on audit requests
  • Cross-functional coordination with the different Business Units, Divisions, and Tower Heads to support in variance analytics and business updates
  • Prepare technical memos on International Financial Reporting Standards, particularly for significant transactions and accounting matters
  • Supporting the line manager with the impairment workings activities during HY and YE audits
  • Consolidating, reviewing, and validating audit adjustments ensuring correct posting in SAP and BPC and reconciling the two systems

Tax

  • Support the Tax tower in responding to Financial Statements related queries
  • Support the Tax tower in preparation of the CIT tax filings
  • Ensuring compliance of completion of the financial statements in a timely manner to avoid late Tax filings
  • Coordinating with the Tax tower to resolve tax related queries from external auditors

Document Retention

  • Responsible for Document retention compliance in all geographies

Automation

Your responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Consolidation:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and disclosures in compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS).
    • Manage and execute consolidation process, ensuring accurate aggregation of financial data for various entities and subsidiaries.
    • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reporting packs along with key metrics.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and ensure completeness and accuracy.
    • Conduct analysis to identify and explain significant variances in Financials.
  • Data Analysis and Automation
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends and provide insights to the management.
    • Assist in developing and implementing financial models to support decision-making processes.
    • Liaison with the data team to automate financial reporting metrics / dashboards through reporting tools (Tableau / NetSuite analytics)
    • Ensure the integrity and consistency of financial data used across financial and management reporting.
    • Propose and implement process improvements to streamline reporting workflows.
  • Audit Support
    • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the applicable accounting standards (IFRS)
    • Collaborate with external auditors during audit process, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.

Your expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. ACCA or equivalent certificate.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting preferably in a listed company
  • Experience working in the financial services and banking sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards (IFRS)
  • Demonstrated experience in developing financial models and dashboards.
  • Proven track record in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly management reporting pack. Also ensuring accurate consolidation of group financial statements.
  • Proficient with advanced excel and other financial reporting tools. Familiarity with SQL and Python is considered an advantage.
