Our client, one of the world’s leading providers of smart logistics solutions, is seeking a Head of Government Relations & Public Affairs to join their head office in Dubai. This role will have a focus in the Africa region and will be tasked with enhancing the business value by positioning the organisation within government and society.
The Head of Government Relations & Public Affairs will have a robust understanding of the political environment and will be responsible for advising on political systems, government processes and will have awareness of key individuals within government and society within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be expected to deliver best quality policy, country and stakeholder analysis and engagement plans to develop and implement vigorous regional strategies.
- Be aware of political shifts and anticipate policy change, whilst identifying possible threats to the business from statutory, legislative, or other regulatory government action.
- To set up processes for collating, interpreting, and distributing key insights from government and related sectors to gain reliable intelligence to strengthen corporate business decisions.
- Understanding the different working practices of governments, embassies and associations whilst actively developing local resources in-region to support delivery of business objectives.
- Work across the organisation to ensure synergy with other business units, and collaborate with business leaders in their engagements, sharing best practices, advising on interpreting cultural nuances, and mitigating risks ensuring compliance of government and ethical standards.
The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years’ experience in a mix of strategic consulting, analytical, business, government/diplomatic and Government Relations or Public Affairs roles.
You will possess strong analytical skills, with demonstrated knowledge of governance and business control and regulatory frameworks as well as experience in crisis management.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with proven experience working with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally is key, as well as an extensive political network within relevant bodies throughout African countries.
An excellent command of the English language (both written & spoken) and advanced level French would be a significant advantage.

- Maintaining track of visa application cancellations, changes of status, and guest visas is an essential responsibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Regional Director, Government Relations (MENA)
The position develops, coordinates, and implements advocacy on behalf of the Boeing Company's telecommunications and radio frequency spectrum policy, regulatory and licensing business interests in Europe, Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The role requires high- level knowledge of telecommunications, navigation and surveillance systems and technologies, with the ability to become an expert in international telecommunications radio regulations, government affairs, and regulatory processes in different countries.
The position requires the ability to establish relationships with key telecommunications regulatory and policy officials at the national, regional, and international levels, as well as work closely and develop coalitions with industry leaders and associations. A passion for aviation, satellite and defense interests is highly desirable.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Represent Boeing's interests on telecommunications policy and licensing issues before government agencies, international and intergovernmental organizations, trade, and industry associations within the assigned geographic area.
Specifically, support Boeing's advocacy efforts before the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) and the Arab Spectrum Management Group (ASMG), as well as in regional satellite and aviation-related telecommunications and radio frequency spectrum groups.
