Position

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to work with our Senior Leadership to guide and support the success of our health and safety actions. This key role needs someone who thrives on diversity, including the team, the locations and the challenges. Expertise in construction health and safety risks, mitigation measures and regulations is essential, as is being able to foster the continual strengthening of our health and safety culture.

Main responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance our comprehensive health and safety management system.
  • Design and manage health and safety training to ensure understanding of systems, risks and controls.
  • Provide guidance and support to functional and project teams during the development of designs, methods, risk assessments, specifications and plans.
  • Establish and maintain the inspection and audit schedules, and carry out regular inspections and audits across all sites, and of all systems.
  • Interact with colleagues, clients and partners across all projects and functions, and provide guidance and support to deal with health and safety issues and challenges.
  • Oversee and coordinate the frontline health & safety team, and mentor and coach them to develop and work independently
  • Lead incident investigations and reviews, and coordinate the effective implementation of preventive actions.
  • Analyze health and safety performance and make recommendations to management on improvements to reduce risk, particularly focusing on our objective "Zero Severe Injuries".
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise through recognised and respected qualifications in Health and Safety.
  • At least 10–15 years of experience in construction, including a minimum of 5 years in management.
  • Good knowledge of working in the region.
  • Frequent travel and a desire to spend most of your time on site with frontline teams.
  • Very organised to ensure that priorities are delivered and initiatives maintained.
  • Great at influencing, and strong when necessary.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage

Network Health owns the end-to-end compliance and enforcement lifecycle for Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) - from risk identification and MEP (Monitoring & Enforcement Plan) management to exit governance and performance reviews. The team ensures that all DSPs operate safely, ethically, and in alignment with Amazon's Supply Chain Standards and local labor regulations.
Trust & Safety complements this work by focusing on driver-level safety, identity verification, and incident resolution programs such as Sentinel, DWEL, and DAF, ensuring that both DSPs and drivers uphold Amazon's zero-tolerance standards on compliance and worker welfare.
This role operates at the intersection of both functions, helping deliver secure, compliant, and sustainable operations in one of Amazon's fastest-growing regions.

- Daily Permit to Work review and sign off, working with the operational and facilities team.
- Lead on WHS related procurement and follow up on site.
- Preparing risk assessments and emergency response plans.
- Managing preparation and completion of emergency drills, medi-evac drills and preparing drill records.
- Heat Index establishment, monitoring and support.
- Provide support to site specific requests, unplanned events and activities.
- On the Road experience
- Excellent with computers and data analysis
Basic Qualifications
- NEBOSH IGC
- Experience in WHS field.
- Good communication skills - English
- Valid UAE driving license and own transport
- Works well within a team environment
- Is driven and pushes for self development and growth
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus skills
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
- Experience working within a team
- Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses
- Experienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or Engineering/Science bachelor degree.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Engineer with a strong background in building construction to support our ongoing project on a short-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will be available to start immediately and bring hands-on expertise in construction safety, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance. Immediate availability is essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on-site.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to identify potential risks or non-compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and deliver toolbox talks and HSE training to site teams.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety performance.
  • Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to ensure safety protocols are followed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a Health and Safety role, with specific experience in building construction projects .
  • Strong understanding of construction safety standards and regulations.
  • NEBOSH certification (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly in a dynamic construction environment .
  • Experience working on commercial or large-scale building projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and permitting requirements.

Overview

The SH&E Advisor will be responsible to assist with identifying SH&E requirements. With the ability to assess and monitor compliance requirements and alignment with local SH&E legislative and regulatory obligations, as well as project and AECOM business requirements.

Role and Responsibilities


  • Serving as the field/project point of contact for SH&E matters.

  • Identify AECOM, Project, and Legislative requirements and align stakeholder compliance.

  • Conduct daily inspections of contractor activities to ensure compliance with contractors’ SH&E Policies, plans, and other obligations.

  • Undertake daily visual inspections, report issues, and submit observation findings to the contractor via the project reporting system. Follow up on the close-out within established timeframes.

  • Coordinate and attend site SH&E meetings. If required, this may include chairing and recording the meetings.

  • Submit safety inspection reports to the Resident Engineer and/or project leads and engage their support.

  • Review risk mitigation documentation, such as plans, procedures, and task-specific Safe Work Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

  • Check SH&E requirements in method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work procedures submitted by the contractor, ensuring activities are in line with the safe work methodology.

  • Check appropriate maintenance, calibration, and operation of all safety equipment.

  • Check site security, fire, first aid, and welfare facilities and ensure procedures appropriate to the works are provided and adequately maintained.

  • Assist in the investigation of all incidents and near misses, and report in accordance with client requirements and AECOM procedures. Ensure that necessary preventative measures are identified based on the worst potential consequences and applied effectively.

  • Set a high personal example of Health & Safety at all times.

  • Provide upstream reports regularly to the Project and SH&E Leads.

  • Attend risk assessment training and request other relevant training as appropriate.
