Pastry Chef
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Salary: 1200 USD/month
The Pastry Chef is responsible for the creation, preparation, and presentation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods in our high-end restaurant in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry-making and a strong understanding of flavor combinations and techniques. They will work closely with the Head Chef to develop and update menus, maintain inventory and stock levels, and ensure high-quality standards are met. This role requires strong leadership skills as the Pastry Chef will oversee the work of junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff. The successful candidate must also have excellent time management skills to ensure all orders are completed on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods according to restaurant standards
- Develop new menu items and update existing menus based on seasonal availability
- Maintain inventory levels for all pastry ingredients and supplies
- Manage a team of junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Ensure all orders are completed on time to meet customer expectations
- Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation
- Monitor food costs and make necessary adjustments to stay within budget
- Train new kitchen staff on pastry making techniques and recipes
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Proven track record of creating innovative dessert menus
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent understanding of flavor combinations and techniques
- Ability to manage inventory levels
- Time management skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Fluent in English (French language skills is an asset)
