The Pharmacy Receptionist is primarily responsible greeting and directing patients in the Outpatient Pharmacy. This position is also responsible for handling cash transactions and for ensuring accurate cash count and safekeeping of the monies received and transacted from Outpatient Pharmacy.

• This position is responsible for providing a comprehensive set of business, financial and appointment-related patient services.
• Responsible for handling cash transactions and for ensuring accurate cash count and safekeeping of the monies received and transacted from various sources within Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD)
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Locates and retrieves patient medical records
• Greets patient and ascertains needs

• Reviews patient's insurance card to determine amount of co-payment
• Reviews financial charge tickets and ensures proper completion
• Answers and/or transfers telephone calls
• Receives and reconciles cash, checks or credit card for payment and issues receipts as required
• Obtains valid authorization for all credit card payments
• Counts and reconciles money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and notifies supervisor if any discrepancy is found
• In the event a refund is being requested, initiates checking the system for delinquent accounts or outstanding balance, suggests to apply payment of refund against outstanding balances before processing any refunds
• If a refund is necessary, ensures all appropriate documents and signatures are obtained, and refunds are entered in the system
• Maintains general knowledge of cash handling and controls and complies to cash handling policies and procedures
• Calculates total amounts received and reconciles with supervisor at the end of each shift before closing cash drawers

ROLE LEVEL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Maintains confidentiality with patients and families and adheres to Mubadala Code of Conduct.

• Adheres to CCAD's standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within CCAD, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typical physical demands include: a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC and operate basic office equipment, normal or corrected vision and hearing, extensive sitting, mobility sufficient to visit with departments or employees throughout CCAD and lift up to 30 lbs.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education :ESSENTIAL:
• High School Diploma is required
• Diploma/Associate's degree may substitute for 1 year of required experience
PREFERRED:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Banking, or related field may substitute for 2 years of required experience
Experience:
• Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience working as a cashier or accountant
• Experience in a similar role in a hospital is preferred

The Manager of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of various service lines within the ambulatory pharmacy, including, but not limited to, operations, home delivery, discharge, and specialty services. This role reports directly to the Ambulatory Pharmacy Director and plays a crucial part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients. The Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for service improvement and implementing initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and optimize pharmacy services.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations:
- Accountable to oversee multiple service areas ambulatory pharmacy, including operations, home delivery, discharge, and specialty services.
- Identifies opportunities for service improvement, develops and implements strategies to enhance the overall patient experience and streamlines pharmacy operations.
- Under the general direction of the Ambulatory Pharmacy Director, and in close collaboration with other stakeholders, develops and implements policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specific to each service line.
- Monitors service line performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Optimizes the operational workflow of each service line, ensuring timely and accurate processing, preparation, and dispensing of medication orders.
- Collaborates with relevant departments, such as supply chain, inventory management, to optimize inventory levels and ensure efficient medication distribution.
- Develops and put into action plans to capture all of the distributed revenue and stop financial loss.
- Develops and implemenst strategies to enhance the efficiency of home delivery and discharge processes, ensuring seamless transitions and timely medication delivery to patients.
Patient Experience and Satisfaction:
- Continuously assesses patient satisfaction related to ambulatory pharmacy services and implement initiatives to improve patient experience and meet or exceed patient expectations.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams to identify and address medication-related issues, ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes.
- Develops and implements strategies to enhance medication counseling and education for patients, promoting medication adherence and proper medication use.
Medication Safety, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, and Process Improvement:
- Develops and implement a quality assurance program specific to each service line, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Monitors compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, making necessary adjustments to pharmacy practices to maintain compliance.
- Implements and monitors systems to enhance medication safety, including error reporting, adverse drug event monitoring, and implementation of medication safety initiatives within each service line.
Caregiver Support and Development:
- Leads and supervises a team of caregivers involved in various service lines, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Fosters a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, open communication, and a commitment to excellence.
- Provides training and support to caregivers, ensuring their competency in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care within their respective service lines.
- Precepts and develops students, interns, residents, and other trainees.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborates with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, nursing staff, and other relevant departments, to enhance interdisciplinary communication and coordination of care.
- Establishes effective communication channels to ensure a smooth flow of information between pharmacy services and other departments.
- Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and initiatives to improve patient care and enhance service delivery.
- Remains updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in ambulatory pharmacy services.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and innovation within each service line, implementing and evaluating new initiatives.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for the month to month financial reports required for compliance to budget and productivity goals
- Assists Director of Pharmacy in developing and implementing strategies to reduce expense and increase revenue.
- Assists Formulary and Therapeutics in identifying efficacious, safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical options for patient care
- Leads the development of service area related monthly financial reports for senior leadership.
- Assists Director of Pharmacy and Executive Director in development of the capital and operating budgets.
- Manages the invoice process between pharmacy and accounts payable to assure bills are accurate and paid.
- Maintains all finance related policies and procedures for the department.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education
- PharmD or Bachelors of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required
- Current National Pharmacy license is required
- Board certification (e.g., ACCP) is preferred
- A post graduate qualification in Pharmacy (preferably a master’s degree) is preferred
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a lead role; leading teams and overseeing day-to-day operations of pharmacy
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a pharmacist post Doctor of Pharmacy, OR minimum of eight (8) years experience as a pharmacist post Master of Pharmacy, OR ten (10) years experience as a pharmacist post Bachelor of Pharmacy degree is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak and write in English is required
- Experience in overseeing multiple pharmacy service lines such as operation, home delivery, discharge, and specialty services, is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency within a pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with patient satisfaction measurement and improvement strategies.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in managing and developing a team of pharmacy professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, interdisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders.

- Experience in implementing and managing electronic health record systems and other pharmacy-related software applications.
- Inpatient operational and clinical experience
- Completion of ASHP accredited pharmacy management residency or 3 years of North American pharmacy management experience

Key Responsibilities:- Oversight of multiple service areas: ambulatory pharmacy, including operations, home delivery, discharge, and specialty services.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, developing and implementing strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and streamline pharmacy operations.
- Development and implementation of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specific to each service line.
- Monitoring service line performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Assessment of patient satisfaction related to ambulatory pharmacy services and implementation of initiatives to improve patient experience and meet or exceed patient expectations.
- Collaboration with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams to identify and address medication-related issues, ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes.
- Development and implementation of quality assurance programs specific to each service line, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Monitoring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, making necessary adjustments to pharmacy practices to maintain compliance.
- PharmD or Bachelors of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required.
- Current National Pharmacy license required.
- Board certification (e.g., ACCP) preferred.
- A post graduate qualification in Pharmacy (preferably a master's degree) preferred.
- Minimum three years experience in a lead role; leading teams and overseeing day-to-day operations of pharmacy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to speak and write in English required.

Key Responsibilities
- Academic Leadership:
Lead and manage the Pharmacy Program, ensuring academic excellence and the achievement of program goals.
Oversee curriculum design, development, and assessment to ensure it meets industry standards and accreditation requirements.
Ensure the integration of the latest developments in pharmaceutical science into the program. - Program Development:
Plan and execute strategies for program growth and development in alignment with institutional objectives.
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation within the program.
Develop and implement student recruitment and retention strategies. - Faculty Management:
Supervise and mentor faculty members, including facilitating their professional development and performance evaluation.
Lead faculty recruitment and selection to ensure the hiring of qualified personnel.
Manage faculty workload and ensure compliance with academic policies. - Accreditation & Compliance:
Ensure the pharmacy program complies with national and international accreditation standards.
Lead the preparation of accreditation reports and liaise with accrediting bodies.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure the program adheres to relevant guidelines and practices. - Student Support:
Provide leadership in student advising, support, and career development.
Address student concerns and ensure a positive learning environment.
Oversee student assessments, internships, and research projects. - Research & Community Engagement:
Foster a research culture within the program by encouraging faculty and students to engage in research projects.
Collaborate with local healthcare institutions and industry partners for internships, job placements, and research opportunities.
Promote community engagement initiatives, including health awareness programs and partnerships with local pharmacies. - Administration:
Prepare and manage the program’s budget, ensuring the effective allocation of resources.
Report to the Dean on program progress, faculty performance, and student outcomes.
Ensure the effective use of technology and other resources in teaching and program administration.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
- At least 10 years of academic and clinical experience in the field of pharmacy.
- Proven experience in program leadership and academic management.
- Strong knowledge of accreditation standards and higher education governance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
- A strong record of research and publications in pharmacy or a related field.
- Familiarity with UAE higher education regulations (if applicable).
