Job Purpose

Development and implementation of Model Risk Management governance and the validation of credit risk, market risk, liquidity, finance and business models at Dubai Islamic Bank in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible to conduct robust and comprehensive qualitative and quantitative validation of IFRS 9, PD Ratings/Scorecards, Stress Testing, statistical and deterministic models used in ICAAP/Pilar II and Market and Liquidity Risk models, as well as finance and other business models, in line with the Bank Model Validation Guidelines and the Model Governance Framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Perform data due diligence and data preparation required for the validation of models

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of archived validation information (data, codes, working files and related documentation) to allow independent third-party review of the validation work performed
  • Provide technical review of the quantitative solutions proposed by the model developer to the model owners in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with other quantitative analysts within the Bank to ensure that models and solutions are consistent and in-line with the Bank practices
  • Support on the development and maintenance of the Model Risk Management framework covering the Model Governance Framework and related policies, including risk appetite, tiering and other risk policies and other processes regarding to models, in line with applicable regulations and industry best practices
  • Support on the development and maintenance of the Model Validation Guidelines
  • Ensure that strict governance is followed for adoption and ongoing use of models across the bank – including compliance with the approved policies, procedures, SLAs and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that exceptions, if any, to the process are escalated promptly
  • Develop and maintain a Model Inventory and ensure the inventory is complete, accurate, and consistent with the Model Governance Framework
  • Develop and maintain the Validation Findings Tracker, covering model related findings coming from internal/external model validation, internal/external audit exercises and from the CBUAE

We are currently recruiting for a Safety Officer to be based in KSA. As a Safety Officer for STRUCTURAL, you will be onsite of complex construction projects that make the structures of the UAE and GCC stronger and last longer.

As the Safety Officer, you will support operations by promoting our 24/7 Safety Culture, providing technical expertise to the operational teams, supporting the project planning process, building collaborative relationships with operational leaders as well as supporting the incident management process.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for implementation of safe system of work by following the approved HSE Plan, MSRA and Safety Policies on site.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the development of OHS policies and programs
  2. Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.)
  3. Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures
  4. Create, review, and update policies and measures according to legislation
  5. Initiate and organize OHS training for employees and executives
  6. Inspect premises and personnel work to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g., not using protective equipment)
  7. Oversee installations, maintenance, and disposal of substances
  8. Stop unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  9. Record and investigate incidents, determine causes, and handle worker’s compensation claims
  10. Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to relevant departments
  11. Represent the company on HSE matters on client-facing platforms
  12. Conduct training sessions for the workforce
  13. Perform frequent site inspections and share unsafe acts and conditions with contractors
  14. Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions
  15. Utilize MS Office and risk assessment software proficiently
  16. Maintain strong presentation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
  17. Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements (local and international)
  18. Have knowledge of lighting and solar works

Requirements:

  1. Experience: More than 6 years working in a multi-project environment
  2. Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field; a Master’s degree is desirable
  3. Professional Certifications: NEBOSH IGC
  4. Skills & Abilities: Project management, training, client handling for safety issues, presentation skills, report preparation, and data analysis related to safety

  • Report any indiscipline, disruptive, or dishonest conduct by workers to management.
  • Assist in having periodic H&S training and safety awareness for all staff, including conducting Safety Induction training.
  • Assist in recording Incident & Accident reports.
  • Inspect, maintain, and keep records of Safety equipment and tools; arrange for their periodic checkup and repair.
  • In-charge of First Aid kits; keep stock & records of items in the kits and arrange for daily replenishment. Provide First Aid to staff.
  • Participate in conducting evacuation drills and lead the emergency evacuation with the designated evacuation team.
  • Check and ensure Emergency Exit doors are well maintained.
  • Monitor high-risk activities in the facility.
  • Implement a proper waste management system and maintain social hygiene in workplaces.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Department head when the need arises.
