The BIM Modeler – Architect will be responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of all BIM files for our unique architectural products. The individual will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of the content we provide to architects and designers, enhancing our ability to meet their specific needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop the model virtually for specific design discipline.
• Ensure that the model aligns with the standards and goals set inBIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
• Collaborate and coordinate internally or/and externally with other disciplines, design-changes and model changes.
• Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
• Communicate effectively and offer cross-team support.
• Develop accurate construction drawings and extract data based on the discipline BIM platform.
• Coordinate design documentation as a methodology with full utilization of BIM software and tools.
• Provides support to seniors during the entire design process to ensure design continuity.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned by manager.

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in architecture.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in BIM Modelling
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and 3D modeling software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

As a ID BIM Modeler reporting into the Interior Design Manager, working from our Design Studio at the Al Hudaiba Awards office in Dubai.

Responsibilities include

• BIM Modeling for Interior Design:
• Develop detailed 3D models of interior spaces including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, and other architectural elements in Revit.
• Focus on joinery detailing for custom cabinetry, millwork, furniture, shelving, and counter designs, ensuring accurate representation of dimensions, finishes, and materials.
• Design and model complex custom joinery elements (e.g., modular units, built-in wardrobes, bespoke furniture) to align with client specifications and architectural aesthetics.
• Design Integration and Coordination:
• Integrate interior design elements with other project disciplines (MEP, structural) to ensure coordination and clash detection.
• Collaborate with interior designers to ensure BIM models reflect the intended design, including spatial layouts, finishes, and furniture arrangements.
• Conduct regular coordination meetings with architects and MEP engineers to resolve design conflicts and ensure integration of systems with interior design features.
• Construction Documentation:
• Generate high-quality construction drawings from BIM models, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, with a specific focus on joinery and millwork.
• Produce detailed shop drawings for joinery elements, including material specifications, dimensions, and installation instructions.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, accessibility standards, and project specifications in all design documents.
• Clash Detection & Quality Control:
• Use tools like Navisworks for clash detection and model coordination to ensure that interior design elements (particularly joinery) are accurately integrated with other building systems.
• Perform regular model audits to ensure the accuracy, constructability, and alignment of the design with project requirements and quality standards.
• Client & Contractor Coordination:
• Collaborate with contractors and manufacturers for the fabrication of custom joinery and millwork, ensuring designs are feasible and meet quality standards.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, assisting contractors with the interpretation of design models and resolving any onsite issues related to joinery.

Here's what you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in BIM modeling, with at least 4 years working in the UAE on interior design projects.
• Strong expertise in Revit (required) for interior design and joinery modeling.
• Advanced understanding of joinery (custom cabinetry, millwork, furniture) detailing and fabrication processes.
• Proficient in Navisworks for clash detection and coordination between architectural and MEP disciplines.
• AutoCAD proficiency for 2D drafting and detailed design documentation.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE building regulations, interior design standards, and construction practices.
• Experience with BIM 360 or similar cloud-based platforms for project collaboration is a plus.

• Proven experience with creating BIM models and technical drawings during the design development phase of projects.

• Strong background working with contracting companies or in a construction site environment.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure, AutoCAD, and Navisworks; knowledge of BIM360 is a plus.
• Familiarity with UAE building codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Ability to read and understand structural drawings, bar bending schedules, and detailing standards.
