Position SummaryInstruct group fitness classes (e.g., aerobics, spinning, strength training) at all ability levels. Provide advice to individuals on the correct method of exercising with fitness equipment. Assess individuals' current exercise programs and level of fitness to develop personalized exercise programs and provide fitness counseling. Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests. Observe activity in the recreational facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedures in the event of an emergency. Provide assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services. Clean and maintain recreational area equipment and supplies. Call Maintenance or an outside service if machines require service.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications. Follow company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Communicate clearly and professionally. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns. Comply with quality assurance standards. Read and verify information in various formats. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and over 75 pounds with assistance. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
Preferred Qualifications- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Certification in Fitness Equipment and Instruction
- Any additional certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Under direction of Director of Spa & Recreation, plans, schedules, performs Personal Trainings and manages, supervises the programs and activities of the Fitness Center; manages and develops outside contracts, vendors, and project budgets; assures regulatory compliance and economy in all programs; performs related work as required. Administers programs and processes and makes decisions in accordance with established rules and regulations, policies and procedures and guidelines; participates in the development of department/division rules, policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and priorities.
