Role Summary

The role is created for university students with an interest in gaining experience in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment for a short period of time. Each student will be expected to use their own initiative and undertake self-directed learning within a supportive environment to work with the team to develop goals and objectives to further common areas of interest. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the procurement team in executing and preparation of procurement packages, review requests and requirements.
  • Identifies procurement system improvements.
  • Communicate with requestors and suppliers to collect data information needed to perform the executions of purchases.
  • Coordinating with other functions as required performing procurement activities.
  • Identifies new work areas including the sourcing of new suppliers, methods, and practices to meet the requirements.
  • Successfully source and secure goods & services through consistent employ of negotiation to secure the most cost-effective purchasing solutions for the company.

Job Description
  • Develop, implement, and deliver training programs for procurement, supply chain, and logistics professionals.
  • Design comprehensive training modules covering procurement processes, supply chain management, inventory control, transportation, and logistics operations.
  • Utilize various training methods, including classroom instruction, workshops, simulations, and online learning platforms, to engage trainees effectively.
  • Customize training materials to meet the specific needs and objectives of different organizations and industries.
  • Provide hands-on training and practical exercises to enhance participants' skills and knowledge.
  • Incorporate real-world case studies, industry best practices, and relevant examples into training sessions to illustrate concepts and principles.
  • Facilitate discussions and interactive activities to encourage active participation and knowledge sharing among trainees.
  • Evaluate trainee performance through assessments, quizzes, and practical assignments to measure learning outcomes.
  • Offer constructive feedback and guidance to help trainees improve their competencies and performance.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, new technologies, and best practices in procurement, supply chain, and logistics management.
  • Collaborate with industry experts, professionals, and organizations to ensure training content remains relevant and up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics management, preferably in a training or teaching capacity.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management techniques, transportation modes, and logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in using training tools and technologies, including learning management systems (LMS) and multimedia resources.
  • Certification in training and development is desirable.
  • Flexibility to adapt training delivery methods and content to different learning styles and audience preferences.
  • Willingness to travel to deliver training sessions at various locations, as needed.

About the Job

The Site Procurement Manager plays a pivotal role in driving Amazon's global operations by leading and delivering strategic procurement projects. This involves managing the sourcing process, policy, and suppliers to ensure optimal requirements and mitigate risks.

This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on Amazon's global operations, driving continuous improvement, innovation, sustainability, and preventing legal & supply risks through procurement missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage sourcing processes across various levels, from needs detection to sourcing requirements at local, regional, country, and cross-continent levels.
  • Anticipate and understand business needs to provide the right procurement strategy with optimal requirements.
  • Lead sourcing, supplier due diligence, negotiations, risk assessments, and other best practices using Coupa (ERP) and other tools.
  • Conduct market research and evaluate suppliers' manufacturing capabilities to enhance/develop GPO Suppliers base for current and future needs.
  • Deliver projects with different spend thresholds, complexity, risks, confidentiality, and time constraints.
Internal Partnerships
  • Be the face of procurement for operations on site and build effective business partnering.
  • Proactively partner with site leadership, other GPO teams, and key partner functions such as finance or legal.
  • Lead meetings with main internal and external stakeholders and bring expertise to key supplier meetings.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to add value to procurement local categories and processes.
Systems/Tools
  • Utilize various applications and systems to provide reliable reporting and data including supplier performance metrics.
Supplier Management
  • Deliver contracts from A to Z mastering CLM (Contract Life Management) and drive contract compliance from suppliers.
  • Create, negotiate, and execute contractual agreements.
  • Manage supplier performance where required as per relevant supplier performance governance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with procurement or supply chain focus or significant procurement experience.
  • Relevant experience in a procurement environment.
  • Proficient computer literacy in MS Office suite.
  • Negotiation skills (internal and external).
  • Contract management skills.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working in a large global highly matrixed organization.
  • Able to manage multiple complex and simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, analysis methodology, and problem-solving skills.
