This role provides a relocation package for candidates based in South Africa and Europe.
The Veterinary Doctor will play a key role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of dairy cattle on largescale farms. The Veterinary Doctor will diagnose and treat illnesses oversee preventative health programs and manage reproductive health.
Key areas:
- Collaborate with nutritionists to optimize feeding programs
- Maintain accurate medical records for animals
- Educate farm staff on best practices in animal handling health monitoring and hygiene
- Ensure all practices comply with local veterinary regulations and farm policies
- Perform surgical procedures as needed
Animal Health Care:
- Diagnose and treat illnesses injuries and other health conditions in dairy cattle.
- Perform regular health checks and clinical assessments.
- Administer vaccinations medications and other treatments as required.
Preventative Care:
- Develop and implement herd health programs to prevent diseases and infections.
- Monitor and manage biosecurity protocols to maintain a diseasefree environment.
- Conduct routine deworming hoof care and other preventative measures.
Reproductive Management:
- Oversee artificial insemination (AI) and natural breeding programs.
- Diagnose and manage reproductive disorders.
- Monitor and assist with calving processes and neonatal care.
Qualifications and Experience required:
