Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM/CAD Technician to join our team! In this role you will get to perform basic to moderately-difficult design/drafting assignments.

• Work closely with BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion

• Works with BIM lead, Design Leads and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, component details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, and to ensure timely implementation and completion

• Understand BIM modeling process and able to manage all BIM related activities from project start up to project completion

• Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process

• Good knowledge in content creation and able to create different types of parametric and non-parametric families

• Strong knowledge in LOD requirements

• Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines on coordination issues and model development tasks

• Good knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, with experience of clash detection and producing clash report

• Able to produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

• Diploma or degree in civil engineering.

• Minimum 5+ years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting experience in pressure networks including portable water, irrigation firefighting and sewerage systems (gravity).

• Software experience required: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D & Navisworks.

• Good knowledge in BIM, understand LOD requirements and BIM processes.

• Common Data Environment: ProjectWise & BIM360 is preferred.

• Ability to communicate clearly in English.

We are seeking an experienced Draughtsman to join our Dubai office. The successful candidate will support the engineering and planning teams by preparing high-quality drawings, layouts, and design documentation for roads, highways, and Traffic Impact Studies (TIS).

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings and design layouts for roads, highways, and TIS projects in compliance with authority standards.
• Work closely with engineers and planners to translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings.
• Assist in the preparation of transport planning and traffic engineering documentation.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in all drawings and deliverables.
• Maintain drawing files, records, and revisions in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Draughtsman, with a focus on roads, highways, and Traffic Impact Studies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and related design/drafting software (MicroStation, Civil 3D would be an advantage).
• Good understanding of road and highway design standards and TIS-related drawing requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and mark-ups into technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
• Previous experience working in a consultancy environment in the UAE or GCC preferred.

Job Description:

Marine CAD/BIM Operator, Dubai Office

Position overview:Performs design/drafting assignments requiring knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. The Marine CAD/BIM Operator typically takes engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc., and formalizes them into working engineering drawings.Specific responsibilities:Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, cross sections, elevations, details, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.Utilizes technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. Understands how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and technical drawings in general.In particular, the Marine CAD/BIM Operator uses AutoCAD and Civil 3D to prepare design drawings for:

• Coastal protection structures such as revetments and breakwaters
• Beaches including groynes
• Scour protection
• Seawater intake/outfall structures
• Marina berthing arrangements
• Navigational channels
• Man-made islands, dredging and reclamation
• Quay walls

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of related work experience
• Hands on experience preparing marine and coastal engineering design drawings
• Must have excellent English written and oral communications skills, and familiarity with industry practices and regulations
• BIM experience
• UAE and/or GCC experience is an advantage
