Job Summary

• This role is responsible for operating a CNC machine to produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect raw materials and products for visual defects, taking corrective action as needed.
• Set up the job using the CNC machine in accordance with specifications within the allotted time frame.
• Create simple programs for machine control.
• Maintain productivity at 100% or above through proper setups and operation of machinery to minimize costs while maintaining schedule integrity.
• Ensure efficient and profitable operation of the work center by optimum usage of tools and consumables.
• Conduct stage inspections of the product at required phases and make necessary records.
• Recognize potential problems with products or processes and inform superiors to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Collaborate with the maintenance department to schedule machine maintenance.
• Document work done and maintain accessibility.
• Keep a log book for communication regarding machine errors, program errors, or accidents.
• Hand over machines and instructions to next shift operators.
• Train and guide helpers in operating machines according to SOP.
• FOLLOW housekeeping procedures, including machine and tool cleaning, and maintain a clean surrounding area.
• Adhere to companys HSE guidelines and communicate potential hazards to supervisors.
• Perform other tasks given by the Production Supervisor to accomplish department objectives.

Requirements:

• Education: ITI (Machinist / Fitter) and basic CNC Programming, Special training in tool making.
• Experience: Minimum 12 years of CNC Machining experience, Experience in 5 Axis CNC machines, preferably DMG machines.
• Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge: Fair understanding of Gcodes, Ability to read Engineering drawing, Knowledge on Machinability of different metals, Knowledge of Quality systems and procedures, Conversant with cutting tools & parameters, Precision measuring instruments & gauges, General maintenance of machines.
