We seek a talented and versatile individual with a strong understanding of the Middle East and the broader international marketing landscape, especially the U.S. The role requires a strategic thinker to ideate, pitch, and produce world-class custom content campaigns for clients in the Middle East that resonate with The Wall Street Journal's global audience of decision-makers. You will lead creative vision and content development across formats for regional and international clients, collaborating with the Executive Director of Content, creatives across EMEA and APAC, and the Integrated Marketing team to understand client needs and craft sophisticated campaigns that deliver results.

This position demands a dynamic, self-starting professional capable of working seamlessly with sales teams, understanding campaign pricing and construction, and assessing the feasibility of pitched programs. A strong network of contacts in the Middle East is advantageous.

Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken forms are essential—able to convey ideas clearly and compellingly through concepts and visuals. You should be comfortable delivering C-Level presentations across diverse regions and cultures. Fluency in spoken and written Arabic is a significant advantage.

Candidates should have at least 10 years of proven success in at least two of the following areas: journalism, creative direction, marketing and/or brand strategy, film & audio, or custom content. Knowledge of agency and client landscapes in the region is a plus. The role involves high-level client engagement and international travel, sometimes on short notice.

You'll collaborate closely with writers, art directors, motion designers, agencies and producers—driving clarity of message and consistency of look, tone, and feel across every format.

Responsibilities

  • Creative & Editorial Direction :
  • Lead the creative development of branded video content—from concept and scripting to visual execution.
  • Define editorial themes, narrative frameworks, and creative treatments across short, mid, and longform video formats.
  • Ensure alignment between messaging, tone, and brand visual identity across all outputs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :
  • Partner with writers, designers, and motion teams to bring ideas to life with clarity and flair.
  • Collaborate with producers, product marketing, comms, and regional teams to ensure strategic and cultural relevance.
  • Work with external production partners, creators, and agencies to scale execution globally.
  • Innovation & Creative Growth :
  • Champion new storytelling formats and platform-first thinking.
  • Explore the integration of 3D motion, AI-driven content workflows, and emerging creative tools.
  • Continuously refine the creative process to balance velocity, quality, and strategic impact.
  • Team Leadership & Quality Control :
  • Work with a lean team of writers and creatives working across formats.
  • Maintain high standards of storytelling, design, and brand expression across every content tier.
  • Guide the development of scripts, storyboards, treatments, and post-production outputs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in creative or content leadership roles—across brand storytelling, editorial, or digital video.
  • Strong writing or content strategy background, with a sharp eye for narrative structure and messaging.
  • Proven experience in leading creative teams and overseeing high-quality, multi-format content.
  • Confident working across both verbal and visual creative development—from first idea to final edit.
  • Comfortable collaborating with production, editorial, and motion design functions.
  • Experience in crypto, fintech, or other technically complex sectors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with 3D / motion and AI-enhanced storytelling workflows is highly desirable.
