Job Purpose
Supervise drilling-related operations at project locations to test and obtain samples in line with the company's requirements. Collaborate closely with the Operations Superintendent and adhere to the responsibilities provided by him. Work with the drilling team and specialists from other Fugro entities or third-party subcontractors to ensure safe and effective sampling and testing programs. Coordinate with the Site Manager and vessel Master to ensure all operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
  • Supervise the activities of the drilling crew at the work location.
  • Ensure all operations comply with the company's quality procedures and HSE policies.
  • Maintain economic drilling production rates and high sample quality by selecting appropriate tooling and drilling techniques.
  • Liaise with site engineering staff to ensure drilling, sampling, and testing activities meet specifications.
  • Advise site engineering staff on the limitations of drilling, sampling, and testing equipment to minimize damage and loss.
  • Inform site engineering staff of any problematic soil conditions that may require a review of the sampling and testing regime.
  • Check that all drilling equipment at the worksite is in good working order and report any faults to the Operations Superintendent promptly.
  • Ensure sufficient plant spares are available at the worksite.
  • Verify that correctly specified drilling, sampling, and testing tools are available at the worksite.
  • Ensure drilling operations consumables are available in sufficient quantities at the worksite.
  • Report any deficits in materials to the Operations Superintendent promptly.
Specific Additional Duties
  • Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the Company Management System on Quality and HSE-related issues.
  • During equipment mobilization and demobilization
    • Organize the workforce for effective 24-hour operations.
    • Request specialist services, third-party plant hire, and labor from the Operations Coordinator or Plant Manager as appropriate.
    • Plan the lifting schedule and ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely and controlled.
    • Supervise all cutting and welding activities and ensure correct mitigation measures are in place.
  • Produce monthly and end-of-project reports on
    • Drilling fluid and chemical usage.
    • Spares usage.
    • Consumables usage.
    • Equipment status, maintenance, and fault reporting.
  • On project completion, produce a debriefing report including
    • Brief summary of project performance.
    • Lessons learned.
    • Individual drill crew evaluations according to IMS form 930.11 Field Staff Appraisal.
    • Evaluation of subcontractor/subcontracted Opco technical performance.
Required Qualifications And Skills
  • Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Job Purpose

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)


• Propose and execute amendments to approved programs in response to changing operational parameters.

• Ensure all operations on the rig site and camp area are carried out in accordance with pertinent contract provisions consistent with HSE policies, rules and regulations.

We are seeking an experienced Driller to lead our drilling operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of drillers and ensuring the safe and efficient completion of drilling projects.

The Driller will be responsible for operating a range of drilling equipment, including power swivels, kellys, rotary tables, draw works, mud circulating systems, and B.O.P. equipment. They will also be responsible for supervising the drill crew and providing leadership in respect to company policies and procedures.

JOB TITLE: SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all aspects of the offshore drilling/workover routine and non-routine operations. Includes directing the work of assigned personnel, ensuring the work of contractors is in accordance with related contracts, following up on material, equipment and personnel movement to and from rigs, carrying out non-routine drilling operations, and checking, verifying and technically endorsing contractor’s invoices.
  • Review and optimize Drilling/Workover programme to meet job objectives
  • Review Basis of Well Design (BOD) for each drilling/workover activity
Drilling/Workover Program
  • Check programmes such as drilling, testing and directional plots in conjunction with the Subsurface team (Geology, RE and PE), ensuring that future wells are correctly programmed from operational point of view.
  • Visit rig site for inspections or non-routine operations as deemed necessary. Include evaluating new equipment or materials for testing new operating procedures, handling major operational problems such as fishing in open hole, stuck string, kick, side tracking, etc. Evaluate the nonroutine operations, prepares necessary programme procedure and supervises the execution.
Drilling/Workover Operations
  • Direct the activities of Offshore Drilling Supervisor on the rig.
  • Discuss operational problems with the Offshore Drilling Supervisor and direct the execution of immediate corrective action if required.
  • Oversee drilling/workover operations and prepare loading requests of equipment/materials related to rig operations.
  • Coordinate with service companies for mobilization of the equipment and personnel as a required basis.
  • Arrange all necessary rig moving and diving assistance in conjunction with Marine Supervisor and Production Unit.
Well Plans and Programs
  • Ensure proper maintenance of records of all Company required drilling/workover equipment and tools. Includes advising the Logistics function of lost equipment and preparing requisitions for replacement and advising contractors to replace lost equipment.
  • Act as relief Offshore Drilling Supervisor in emergency situations when Offshore Drilling Supervisor is removed from the rig.
  • Ensure the preparation and coordinate all necessary reports for the drilling/workover operations. Prepare requests for authorization forms pertaining to drilling/workover operations.
Budgets and Contracts
  • Review all requirements for services and equipment required for tender, and prepare the necessary tender documents for all drilling/workover operations.
  • Review and evaluate the tender document submitted by contractors/sub-contractors.
  • Prepare and manage drilling/workover budget
Monitoring of Rig Operations and Reports
  • Establish monitor and control progress of rig operations In accordance with Approved budgeted costs, quality, timelines, standard of the Contractors in order to ensure that the project objectives are met in line with approved parameters
  • Review the daily drilling/workover report to ensure that the drilling/workover programme is adhered to by the contractors and prepare related reports for concerned parties.
  • Ensure reports are prepared to document the lessons learned.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Recommend improvements to functional procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of geological activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the offshore production operations, systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operations engineering section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Ensure effective accident investigation and follow-up in accord with statutory requirements and to ascertain the non – occurrences of the same incidents.

  • Managing and administering lease compliance, documentation etc.

Job Purpose

Assess quality assurance and quality control of drilling fluids chemicals and additives to ensure the performance as per oilfield standards.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

• Monitor and control quality assurance of all drilling and completion chemicals and brines. Maintain proper QA-QC records.
• Carry out spot checks of chemicals in stores, supplier stores, service company stores & rigs and brines at the brine plant. Verify proper storage, handling & house-keeping procedures, HSE procedures and documents control are followed.
• Liaise with Commercial division and stores to ensure sufficient safety stock of chemicals is maintained at stores. Monitor chemical consumption patterns and investigates any abnormalities. Establish quarterly chemical requirements based on planned types of wells.
• Maintain checks on performance of Service Company formulations through lab pilot tests.
• Investigate chemical quality discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Follow-up with suppliers to ensure compliance.
• Involve in trouble-shooting drilling problems, suggest solutions and recommendations. Perform pilot tests at the lab as required for trouble-shooting drilling problems.
• Maintain close liaison with other OPCOs lab to ensure proper QA-QC of all Price Agreement chemicals’ per-life samples. Verify that proper sampling procedures are followed.
• Monitor all HSE procedures are followed with respect to chemicals. Ensure usage of only environment friendly chemicals. Strive continually to reduce chemical waste and improve company’s waste management procedures.
• Perform periodical audits of supplier stores. This includes per-qualification, tender evaluation, mobilization and regular HSE & quality audits. Issue audit reports.
• Participate in technical evaluations of Joint OPCOs’ tenders for chemicals. Liaise with other OPCOs when required.
• Provide fluids input in the Well Value Assurance process of planning the well, wherever required to improve fluid performance.
• Review and update Drilling Fluid manuals, chemical QA-QC manual, Lab test procedures manual, chemical specifications, chemical HSE procedures, Joint OPCOs’ chemical procedures manual.
• Perform pilot studies on new fluid formulations, new chemicals, new technology products, Service Company / Manufactures’ proposals. This includes both technical evaluations and lab tests. Participate in implementing trials and issue trial evaluation report.
• Review fluid reports, well recaps, end of well reports and phase reports. Monitor solids control equipment efficiency, analyse performance and make recommendations for their improvements.
• Provide QA-QC support to Cement group as required. This includes liaising with lab, suppliers & service companies to improve quality, investigate failures, trouble-shoot problems, etc.
• Keep abreast with latest developments in fluids/ chemicals, assesses technically service company’s and chemical suppliers’ new offers, implement trials and assesses trial results, introduce innovative products & procedures to improve drilling performance.
• Work in line with HSE policy, awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations.
