Electronics Technician Position Description
This Electronics Technician role is a key position that requires an individual with extensive knowledge of simulator computer systems and operating systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance activities on simulation equipment, including repairing complex electronic devices, replacing components, wiring circuits, and taking test readings using various instruments.
- This includes direct and/or independent performance of tasks such as fabricating or modifying electrical/electronic devices, hardware, or software installations.
- The Electronics Technician must also possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with site management regarding scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, as well as advise on operational impacts.
- Able to operate independently in a computer-rich environment, the ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of computer network architecture and circuit interrelationships.
- With minimal supervision, the Electronics Technician II will exercise judgment in planning work sequences and selecting tools and test equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience as an Electronics Maintenance Simulator Technician II or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of experience in simulator maintenance, preferably with IA certifications like A+ and Security+.
- Familiarity with electronics and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Passing a medical examination for OCONUS assignment and having the physical ability to perform job duties.
