Qualifications
Educational Background: MSc or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field (PhD preferred for research-heavy roles).
Hands-On Lab Experience: Proven experience working with quantum devices or precision experimental setups — cryogenics, RF/microwave, low-noise electronics, and vacuum systems.
Instrumentation Skills: Comfortable with oscilloscopes, VNAs, AWGs, spectrum analyzers, lock-in amplifiers, and DC/low-noise measurement techniques.
Control Systems & Automation: Experience with FPGA platforms, real-time controllers, or embedded systems; scripting in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for measurement automation.
Microwave & RF Know-How: Strong understanding of microwave engineering concepts (S-parameters, impedance matching, filters, mixers, amplifiers).
Device & Packaging Familiarity: Exposure to qubit packaging, wire-bonding, PCB design for cryo, or semiconductor device test workflows is a plus.
Data Analysis & Experiment Design: Ability to design experiments, analyse noisy data, extract meaningful metrics, and iterate on hardware.
Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong troubleshooting skills with clear written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across physics, software, and product teams.
Practical Mindset: Attention to detail, methodical lab practices, and commitment to reproducibility and documentation.
Nice to Have: Publications or contributions in quantum hardware research, experience with superconducting/trapped-ion/photonic platforms, or prior work on quantum control firmware.
If you're passionate about building the hardware that makes quantum advantage possible and enjoy converting lab science into reliable systems, we'd love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV, links to relevant projects or publications, and a short note about a hardware challenge you solved.
