Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HSE roles preferably in water treatment or related industries.
  • Relevant HSE certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards particularly those applicable to sewage treatment plants in the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of sewage treatment processes, technologies and associated environmental impacts.
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations and environmental impact assessments.
  • Proficiency in HSE management systems and related software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey HSE concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
  • Familiarity with water quality management practices and regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

HSE Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill this role in the UAE. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in health, safety, and environmental practices within the construction industry.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Health Safety and Environment Management Plan.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Design and deliver training programs for the team on health and safety protocols.
  • Lead weekly health and safety meetings with contractors and management teams to discuss observations and actions.
  • Ensure that all contractors and subcontractors implement effective health and safety plans and procedures.
  • Review and approve risk assessments and method statements from contractors.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance to contractors and staff.
  • Monitoring and reviewing health and safety performance of contractors and their supply chain.
  • Reporting and investigating accidents and incidents.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety or related field is required. A level 5 qualification in occupational health and safety is also desirable.

Professional certifications such as IOSH CSP or CRSP are advantageous.

Experience:

Minimum 12 years of experience in the construction industry is required. Previous experience as a supervision consultant is an advantage.

Requirements:

This is a full-time position that requires frequent travel to construction sites. Remote work is not available.
