Stantec is currently looking to hire a Land Surveyor to join our team in Dubai.
Qualifications:
• The surveyor must have relevant technical qualification and must have not less than 7 years of experience in survey works with modern instruments in works related to sewerage, drainage and irrigation connections and miscellaneous works.
• He must know all areas in the Emirate of Dubai and have through knowledge of Existing Sewerage, drainage and irrigation networks in the Emirate of Dubai.
• Experience of inspection / supervising of project activities/works.
• Highly experienced in Total Station and their associated software.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Auto CAD and other related software.

The Land Surveyor shall work under the direct supervision of Resident Engineer at designated site and perform the supervision of Contractor’s work.
This position will provide on-site construction inspection and applicable documentation for construction projects. This includes observation of construction and maintenance work activities for compliance with plans and specifications, preparation of required contract documentation, and following prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures consistent with Local Agency Guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fulfilling tasks of Site Supervision, such as inspecting and verifying the accuracy of Contractors survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Supervise Contractors onsite installation works, support on elaborating design and as well as follow up thereof implementation according to specifications and drawings.
- Undertake surveys by using a variety of modern surveying equipment, manual recording, computer-aided drafting programs and databases to collect and record data of geological areas according to project requirements
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
- Review Contractor’s submittals such as method statements, technical submittals, shop drawings, etc. to ensure compliance with Contract Documents.
- Ensure that the Project HSE and QA/QC requirements are followed
- Monitor and record site progress and keep record of day works of assigned projects
- Perform other project duties as assigned by the management.
- Bachelor’s degree in survey engineering
- 5 years of post-graduate experience in a similar position
- Proficiency in MS Office and CAD
- Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal; Arabic will be an advantage

Job Responsibilities- Perform survey work under the direction and guidance of the Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Establish primary horizontal and vertical control points including reference ties for re-establishing the points in the field.
- Supervise survey party staff.
- Record all measurements, rod readings and calculations neatly and accurately in field books as the work progresses.
- Coordinate with the Contractor’s surveyor on work priorities and schedules.
- Check all work by completing traverse closures and bench circuits.
- Report discrepancies or technical problems to the Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Perform joint measurements of the completed work or payment.
- Check completed work for conformance to the line and grade required by the project plans in coordination with the Inspector assigned to the item of work.
- Perform regular checks of the Contractor’s setting out to verify proper execution and accuracy.
