As an engineering manager, you need to bring both technical and management skills to the leadership of your team. This new role will report to the Head of R&D and will be central to scaling our engineering capability in the UAE. The Engineering Manager will oversee the local technical team and support the execution of global product development initiatives, with strong coordination across Alfa Laval engineering hubs.

Your Key Responsibilities :

  1. Build and lead the engineering function in Abu Dhabi, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing a high-performing technical team.
  2. Ensure successful project delivery across ultrasonic antifouling, agitation, and adjacent systems by managing engineering resources, priorities, and timelines.
  3. Support the Head of R&D in delivering the global product roadmap, including concept development, testing, prototyping, and product launch.
  4. Translate product requirements into engineering workstreams, coordinating across internal and external teams to ensure alignment.
  5. Maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and sales, to ensure products are scalable and aligned with market needs.

What We Are Looking For :

  • Experience working in a multinational matrix organisation is a plus.
  • A degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering team leadership within industrial or maritime sectors.
  • Strong background in systems engineering, product design, or applied R&D. Experience with ultrasonic or electrical systems is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to build and scale engineering teams, ideally in a start-up or high-growth environment.
  • Strong project management skills with a structured, delivery-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Fluent English (spoken and written) is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect Contractor's work to assure it is in accordance with contract plans and specifications, and in accordance with RFIs, submittals and approved changes.
  • Issue non-compliance reports documenting deficient work and follow-up until the defective work is corrected or accepted by Owner or Engineer.
  • Assist with pre-construction efforts including taking inspector’s set of pre-construction photos and videos.

Qualifications

Engineering Manager – Sonihull in Abu Dhabi

NRG Marine Limited (Sonihull), a member of the Alfa Laval group, is a global leader in ultrasonic antifouling and agitation systems. Our award-winning Sonihull technology is in use on more than 3,800 vessels worldwide, with a growing footprint in industrial applications such as energy, steel, and dairy.

To support our ongoing expansion and product innovation, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Abu Dhabi office. This new role will report to the Head of R&D and will be central to scaling our engineering capability in the UAE. The Engineering Manager will oversee the local technical team and support the execution of global product development initiatives, with strong coordination across Alfa Laval engineering hubs.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead the engineering function in Abu Dhabi, including recruiting, mentoring, and developing a high-performing technical team.
  • Ensure successful project delivery across ultrasonic antifouling, agitation, and adjacent systems by managing engineering resources, priorities, and timelines.
  • Support the Head of R&D in delivering the global product roadmap, including concept development, testing, prototyping, and product launch.
  • Translate product requirements into engineering workstreams, coordinating across internal and external teams to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and sales, to ensure products are scalable and aligned with market needs.
  • Implement engineering best practices, tools, and systems to improve productivity, traceability, and product quality.
  • Assist in regional testing and trials, including hands-on technical support and occasional site visits.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Abu Dhabi engineering team.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working in a multinational matrix organisation is a plus.
  • A degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering team leadership within industrial or maritime sectors.
  • Strong background in systems engineering, product design, or applied R&D. Experience with ultrasonic or electrical systems is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to build and scale engineering teams, ideally in a start-up or high-growth environment.
  • Strong project management skills with a structured, delivery-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Fluent English (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Experience working in a multinational matrix organisation is a plus.
