Laundry Operations:

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, and uniforms according to established procedures.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, including washing machines, dryers, and press machines.
• Handle stained or damaged items appropriately, following specific guidelines for treatment or disposal.
• Maintain inventory of linens and uniforms, keeping track of stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
• Ensure that all laundry processes adhere to health and safety standards.

Quality Control:

• Inspect laundered items for quality assurance, ensuring that they meet the resort's standards for cleanliness and presentation.
• Report any issues or concerns regarding laundry quality, equipment malfunctions, or inventory shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
• Implement corrective measures as needed to address deficiencies and maintain consistency in laundry operations.

• Proven experience in a Laundry or related role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

They must ensure they have what they need to do their work (reading and visually verifying information in a variety of formats, including small print; visually inspecting tools, equipment, or machines) and take a hands-on approach to work (moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance; reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping). Doing all of these things well and performing other reasonable job duties as requested is critical for Runners to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To provide guests and staff laundry services that meets Raffles Standards.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process laundry by either washing dry cleaning or pressing
• Follow procedures for the above processes as established by the Laundry Manager
• Carefully use of laundry chemicals solvent and spotting chemicals as instructed
• Mark all items for laundering paying attention to room numbers and sequences
• Pay particular attention to any items requiring prewash soaking
• Weigh all laundry prior to loading into machines
• Use laundry equipment as instructed and maintain them in a proper state of cleanliness
• Attend daily briefings with Supervisor and accomplish daily tasks as instructed
• Report to supervisors any stained or torn guest and staff laundry before beginning process of cleaning. Also report any items left in pockets or any jewelry on clothing
• Ensure all guest requests and instructions are adhered to. E.g. fold in trousers. Light starch shirt folded etc.
• Ensure working area is kept clean and organized
• Present guest and staff laundry as instructed
• Adhere to personal grooming and hygiene standards

• Carry out valet services as needed including delivery of linen

POSITION SUMMARY

Operate and monitor washing dry cleaning and drying machinery including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps. Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair spot treatment rewash or discard. Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer dryer or dry-cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts. Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load. Remove lint and debris from dryer screens dry cleaning filters and drain trap after each load. Fold cleaned articles into designated size either by hand or using folding machine. Maintain accurate records of items laundered.

Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify recommend develop and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency productivity quality safety and/or cost-savings.
