The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for an adjunct teaching opportunity commencing in Fall Semester 2025 in the area of computer science and engineering. Experience in the American model of higher education is highly desirable.

The applicant is required to have a PhD in Computer Engineering or a closely related field and show evidence of a significant teaching portfolio. Role Summary

As an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Science you will join a vibrant team of academic staff and make a substantial contribution to the management development and delivery of the highly successful BSc Biomedical Science and Foundation programme on our Dubai campus. Through excellent teaching you will inspire students be informed by disciplinebased research as well as contribute to the leadership management and administration of the programme in Dubai. We are looking for candidates with extensive teaching experience at undergraduate level in the Biomedical Sciences that can teach and assess across a wide range of biomedical disciplines although experience in teaching human physiology would be a particular advantage.

You will contribute to a range of educationrelated activities to include small group teaching lectures and practical classes as well as adopting innovative methods of teaching. In addition you will be expected to demonstrate academic citizenship developing and maintaining mutually respectful and supportive working relationships with all staff (in both Dubai and our Edgbaston campus) and students and ensuring the way you carry out your role impacts positively on how others carry out theirs.

Teaching is likely to include a substantial contribution to the management development and delivery of teaching and assessment at all levels which will involve a close working relationship with Biomedical Science module leads on our Edgbaston campus and the Birmingham International Academy. Education

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of study, considering and aiming to achieve the three (3) fundamental standards of the University: Teaching, Research, and Services.
• Teach courses in commercial law and related subjects to undergraduate and graduate students.
• Lead and conduct innovative legal research in the field of commercial law, publishing in top-tier journals and participating in international conferences.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of USTF’s commercial law Program, exploring new legal challenges.
• Advise and mentor students, particularly those pursuing careers in commercial law.
• Engage with industry leaders, government agencies, and academic institutions to promote thought leadership in commercial law and its legal implications.
• Actively participate in the faculty’s governance and strategic planning, shaping the direction of legal education and research at USTF.

Required Qualifications:

• Full Professor or Associate Professor level with a strong academic record in the field of commercial law, including a Ph.D. in Law.
• Demonstrated expertise in legal aspects of commercial law.
• A proven record of teaching excellence at the university level and the ability to engage students with complex legal topics.
• An established research portfolio with publications in high-impact legal journals and other scholarly outlets.
• A commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience in securing research grants and working with external partners on issues related to commercial law.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Practical legal experience in the field of commercial law, including working with governmental agencies, international organizations, or private sector firms.
• Experience in mentoring graduate students or junior faculty members, with a focus on fostering the next generation of legal scholars.
