ZOO Digital currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our award-winning Research & Development team based in Sheffield city centre. Research & Development work closely with the Product Support Team to create cutting edge software solutions for high profile and industry-leading customers. ZOO’s Research & Development department is thriving – you will work as part of a dynamic, lively team with plenty of opportunities for progression and professional development.
The Lead QA Automation Engineer will play a primary role in planning, implementing, leading, and executing all aspects of testing. The role requires hands-on training and mentoring the team in automation, plus developing and evolving ZOO’s QA processes.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of QA engineers, providing training and technical guidance.
- Developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Cypress.
- Conducting code reviews and providing feedback on automation code and processes.
- Collaborating with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Ensuring test coverage for critical path tests of internal and external products.
- Performing API testing, with experience in tools like Schemathesis being a plus.
- Driving the quality assurance process and ensuring best practices in test automation.

- Proven experience in leading QA and automation efforts.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably GitLab.
