JOB TITLE: SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise all aspects of the offshore drilling/workover routine and non-routine operations. Includes directing the work of assigned personnel, ensuring the work of contractors is in accordance with related contracts, following up on material, equipment and personnel movement to and from rigs, carrying out non-routine drilling operations, and checking, verifying and technically endorsing contractor’s invoices.
- Review and optimize Drilling/Workover programme to meet job objectives
- Review Basis of Well Design (BOD) for each drilling/workover activity
- Check programmes such as drilling, testing and directional plots in conjunction with the Subsurface team (Geology, RE and PE), ensuring that future wells are correctly programmed from operational point of view.
- Visit rig site for inspections or non-routine operations as deemed necessary. Include evaluating new equipment or materials for testing new operating procedures, handling major operational problems such as fishing in open hole, stuck string, kick, side tracking, etc. Evaluate the nonroutine operations, prepares necessary programme procedure and supervises the execution.
- Direct the activities of Offshore Drilling Supervisor on the rig.
- Discuss operational problems with the Offshore Drilling Supervisor and direct the execution of immediate corrective action if required.
- Oversee drilling/workover operations and prepare loading requests of equipment/materials related to rig operations.
- Coordinate with service companies for mobilization of the equipment and personnel as a required basis.
- Arrange all necessary rig moving and diving assistance in conjunction with Marine Supervisor and Production Unit.
- Ensure proper maintenance of records of all Company required drilling/workover equipment and tools. Includes advising the Logistics function of lost equipment and preparing requisitions for replacement and advising contractors to replace lost equipment.
- Act as relief Offshore Drilling Supervisor in emergency situations when Offshore Drilling Supervisor is removed from the rig.
- Ensure the preparation and coordinate all necessary reports for the drilling/workover operations. Prepare requests for authorization forms pertaining to drilling/workover operations.
- Review all requirements for services and equipment required for tender, and prepare the necessary tender documents for all drilling/workover operations.
- Review and evaluate the tender document submitted by contractors/sub-contractors.
- Prepare and manage drilling/workover budget
- Establish monitor and control progress of rig operations In accordance with Approved budgeted costs, quality, timelines, standard of the Contractors in order to ensure that the project objectives are met in line with approved parameters
- Review the daily drilling/workover report to ensure that the drilling/workover programme is adhered to by the contractors and prepare related reports for concerned parties.
- Ensure reports are prepared to document the lessons learned.
- Recommend improvements to functional procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of geological activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
- Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the offshore production operations, systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operations engineering section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Ensure effective accident investigation and follow-up in accord with statutory requirements and to ascertain the non – occurrences of the same incidents.
- Ensure that all functional reports of administration activities are prepared timely and accurately and meet client / function requirements, policies and standards.
Education / Qualifications
- Required: Engineering bachelor’s degree e.g. Mechanical, Petroleum, Mining or equivalent with a good understanding of Drilling technology and upstream processes.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree

Job Purpose

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
- Plans and prepares Drilling and/or Work over programmes and testing procedures for assigned wells in accordance with the well objectives, technical requirements and engineering standards. Works closely with the Reservoir Development teams in prognosis creation and optimisation.
- Ensures the equipment and services are available and prepared for planned wells to be drilled.
- Monitors and analyses the work progress during drilling, well completions and work overs. Provide necessary instructions, advice and measures to be taken by the Drilling Supervisor to resolve problems and avoid delays in work schedule and to ensure that the requirements and the well objectives are achieved.
- Monitors well execution and delivery performance against agreed KPIs and business plan. Provides analysis and understanding of differences, and makes recommendation to address them.
- Acts as a focal point between Rig-site and Main office for all operational and field based issues. Maintains good communication with Drilling Supervisor to ensure delivery of excellence in HSE and programme execution.
- Supervises the moving of rigs schedule on and off well locations. Includes liaising with contractor to ensure maximum safety and accurate positioning of rig on new location.
- Prepares Final Well Reports and ensure AAR (After Action Review) are completed for each well.
- Check budget and Drilling & Work over Schedule and ensures that enough funds area available for the completion of each well.
- Verifies well expenditure proposals and monitors variance from plans. Provides budget estimates for specific drilling operations as required and raises them to supervisor for review and approval.
- Prepares studies and reviews which will assist in solving current operational problems, improves current operational procedures and delivers excellence in performance delivery
- Participates in designing and/or confirming designs and specifications of drilling and associated equipment.

What you will need to do:
- Lead an established team of Section Heads and Engineers to secure the completion of the project within time and budget.
- Manage direct multi-faceted construction activities, including subcontractors and personnel.

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and take responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction for construction and completions activities.

What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Master's Degree (Optional but Beneficial).
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) / Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Relevance of experience in Rotating & Static Equipment Installation and strong understanding of Oil & Gas operations (Brown Field).
- Minimum of 20-25 years of experience with at least 10 years in a managerial role with a focus on Oil & Gas Projects in the Middle East.
- Having previous experience with ADNOC projects (ADNOC approval is an advantage).
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects.

Job Opening: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced recruiter to join our team on a temporary, 6-month contract.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the entire recruitment process from sourcing and screening candidates to conducting interviews and negotiating offers for technical roles within the upstream oil & gas industry.
- Build and maintain strong pipelines of industry professionals using job boards, social media, and industry-specific networks.
- Collaborate closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to define role requirements and develop targeted recruitment strategies.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely communication and professional engagement.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor hiring practices to refine recruitment strategies.
- Minimum 2-3 years of recruitment experience in upstream oil & gas or related industries in the Middle East.
- Proven experience in recruitment agencies or working with oil field service companies.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other job boards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage candidates and stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the regional labor market and industry-specific roles.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and achieve set targets.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant HR or recruitment certifications are an advantage.
