We are seeking an experienced **Quantity Surveyor** to join our construction supervision team for a **major Utilities and Infrastructure project** in **Abu Dhabi** . The role will focus on contract administration, measurement, valuation, and cost management to ensure accurate financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
**1. Measurement & Valuation:**
+ Review and verify contractors' interim payment applications and progress claims.
+ Measure quantities from drawings and site works to support cost evaluations.
+ Prepare and maintain detailed records of works executed for interim and final valuations.
**2. Contract Administration:**
+ Review and interpret contract documents, bills of quantities, and specifications.
+ Assist in the assessment and evaluation of variations, claims, and change orders.
+ Support in preparing recommendations and reports for client approval.
**3. Cost Control & Reporting:**
+ Monitor project costs and prepare cost reports highlighting potential risks or variances.
+ Assist the Project Controls and Commercial team in maintaining cost forecasts and cash flow projections.
+ Support in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out documentation.
**4. Coordination & Communication:**
+ Liaise with the Resident Engineer, Project Control Engineer, and Client's Commercial Team on contractual and financial matters.
+ Provide cost-related inputs for progress reports and project reviews.
+ Maintain organized documentation of correspondence, valuations, and cost data.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
+ Minimum **8-12 years** of experience in **quantity surveying** within **construction supervision** of **infrastructure and utilities** projects (roads, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, potable water, etc.).
+ Strong knowledge of FIDIC-based contracts and UAE construction practices.
+ Proficient in **MS Excel** , **CostX** , or similar QS software.
+ Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
+ Previous experience with major consultants or supervision firms in the UAE or GCC preferred.

**Job Summary**
The Quantity Surveyor will lead key elements of the site-based post contract delivery of our cost management activities having daily interaction with the rest of the AECOM site supervision team. They will be expected to work well as part of a team and autonomously and know when to reach back to the office / line manager for additional support.

+ Estimate variation orders for Contractors/Subcontractors.

**Qualification**
+ Must have a QS or Engineering degree or similar equivalent
+ Minimum 7 years of experience in quantity surveying for infrastructure projects
**Specific Skills Required**
+ High level of literacy skills in English. Arabic speaking considered a benefit.
+ Excellent working knowledge of industry best practices
+ To lead our commercial team on a major Infrastructure project
+ Knowledge of cost and contract management techniques, budget management and change control

**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in infrastructure and road projects to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our construction management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our projects through accurate cost estimation, budgeting, and contract management.
+ Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure and road projects
+ Develop and manage project budgets, forecasting costs throughout the project lifecycle
+ Analyze contract documents and prepare tender packages
+ Negotiate and administer contracts with contractors and suppliers
+ Perform quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities
+ Monitor project costs and report on variances
+ Prepare and analyze cost reports for project stakeholders
+ Assess and value variations and claims
+ Assist in the resolution of contractual disputes
+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to optimize project costs
+ Stay updated on local construction regulations and standards in the UAE
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
+ Professional certification from a recognized institution (e.g., RICS, AACE)
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying for infrastructure and road projects
+ Experience working in the Middle East, preferably in the UAE
+ Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Causeway)
+ Strong mathematical and analytical skills
+ Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
+ In-depth knowledge of infrastructure and road construction processes
+ Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes
+ Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards in the UAE
+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
+ Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
+ Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
