- Ensure safe and efficient commissioning of systems and equipment in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate and execute commissioning procedures from pre-commissioning through start-up, validating performance and functionality of systems.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, checklists, and documentation aligned with project schedules and commissioning strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, operations, and vendors to ensure seamless transition from construction to operations.
- Lead and participate in system walkdowns, inspections, and functional tests, ensuring readiness for mechanical completion and turnover.
- Monitor and report on commissioning progress, identifying issues proactively and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule integrity.
- Ensure adherence to HSE standards during all commissioning activities, promoting a safety-first culture on site.
- Support the development of as-built documentation and handover dossiers to operations or clients, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Facilitate technical troubleshooting and performance verification, helping resolve startup anomalies or punch list items.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and implement commissioning procedures, checklists, and system turnover plans in collaboration with construction, quality, and operations teams.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure that systems are mechanically completed and ready for commissioning on schedule.
- Execute functional and performance testing of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to verify operational readiness.
- Supervise and guide subcontractors and vendor representatives during the commissioning phase to ensure compliance with technical standards.
- Monitor commissioning progress and generate detailed reports capturing KPIs, system readiness, and any deviations or concerns.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE procedures during all commissioning activities, conducting risk assessments and ensuring work permits are in place.
- Coordinate system handover and documentation, including as-built records, test reports, and operation manuals, in line with client requirements.
- Support troubleshooting, loop checking, and dynamic testing activities during startup, addressing anomalies and resolving issues collaboratively.
- In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, manages succession planning for direct reports.
- Provides coaching and mentoring for direct reports.
- Actively supports recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet succession and business plans.
- Support the development and retention of motivated and qualified people.
- Ensures support and set performance expectations of direct reports.
- Continuous promotion of, and adherence to, the discipline specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Support the development and delivery of the technical assurance framework.
- Monitor compliance with qualified standards. Participate in incident investigations as required.
- Responsible in own discipline to provide support to the business.
- Ensuring learning opportunities are captured and realized.
- Responsible in knowledge of regulatory framework and associated legislation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases of large-scale industrial, energy, or oil and gas projects.
- Vendor equipment-specific commissioning training is a plus
- Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems commissioning procedures
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, equipment datasheets, loop drawings, and control philosophies
- Proficiency in dynamic commissioning activities, function testing, and start-up troubleshooting
- Familiarity with system completions tools and turnover packages (e.g., MC, RFC, RFSU documentation)
- Strong leadership and coordination skills to interface with multi-discipline site teams, contractors, and vendors
- Excellent problem-solving aptitude and situational decision-making, especially under time-critical conditions
- Sound knowledge of safety protocols and a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexibility to work in remote or challenging site environments and adjust to project timelines

- Ensure safe and efficient commissioning of systems and equipment in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate and execute commissioning procedures from pre-commissioning through start-up, validating performance and functionality of systems.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, checklists, and documentation aligned with project schedules and commissioning strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, operations, and vendors to ensure seamless transition from construction to operations.
- Lead and participate in system walkdowns, inspections, and functional tests, ensuring readiness for mechanical completion and turnover.
- Monitor and report on commissioning progress, identifying issues proactively and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule integrity.
- Ensure adherence to HSE standards during all commissioning activities, promoting a safety-first culture on site.
- Support the development of as-built documentation and handover dossiers to operations or clients, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Facilitate technical troubleshooting and performance verification, helping resolve startup anomalies or punch list items.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and implement commissioning procedures, checklists, and system turnover plans in collaboration with construction, quality, and operations teams.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure that systems are mechanically completed and ready for commissioning on schedule.
- Execute functional and performance testing of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to verify operational readiness.
- Supervise and guide subcontractors and vendor representatives during the commissioning phase to ensure compliance with technical standards.
- Monitor commissioning progress and generate detailed reports capturing KPIs, system readiness, and any deviations or concerns.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE procedures during all commissioning activities, conducting risk assessments and ensuring work permits are in place.
- Coordinate system handover and documentation, including as-built records, test reports, and operation manuals, in line with client requirements.
- Support troubleshooting, loop checking, and dynamic testing activities during startup, addressing anomalies and resolving issues collaboratively.
- In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, manages succession planning for direct reports.
- Provides coaching and mentoring for direct reports.
- Actively supports recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet succession and business plans.
- Support the development and retention of motivated and qualified people.
- Ensures support and set performance expectations of direct reports.
- Continuous promotion of, and adherence to, the discipline specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Support the development and delivery of the technical assurance framework.
- Monitor compliance with qualified standards. Participate in incident investigations as required.
- Responsible in own discipline to provide support to the business.
- Ensuring learning opportunities are captured and realized.
- Responsible in knowledge of regulatory framework and associated legislation.
- Perform the role of Technical Authority when appointed to do so.
- Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports / respective team.
- Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases of large-scale industrial, energy, or oil and gas projects.
- Vendor equipment-specific commissioning training is a plus
- Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems commissioning procedures
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, equipment datasheets, loop drawings, and control philosophies
- Proficiency in dynamic commissioning activities, function testing, and start-up troubleshooting
- Familiarity with system completions tools and turnover packages (e.g., MC, RFC, RFSU documentation)
- Strong leadership and coordination skills to interface with multi-discipline site teams, contractors, and vendors
- Excellent problem-solving aptitude and situational decision-making, especially under time-critical conditions
- Sound knowledge of safety protocols and a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexibility to work in remote or challenging site environments and adjust to project timelines

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering
- 3-8 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant
- Requires a good understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in commissioning, completions, and training as well as basic knowledge of other functions, such as construction and operations & maintenance
- Applies understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness
- Preferably possess a degree or diploma or equivalent in engineering
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical, refinery, or oil & gas process facility
- Prefer 2+ years of previous commissioning and start-up experience in the chemical, refinery, or oil & gas industry
- Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers
- Must have good computer software skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Must have good organizational skills and be adaptable to the needs of various discipline groups
- Must have the ability to assess and communicate project requirements and expectations in a clearly defined, positive, and productive manner
- Willing and able to travel to construction sites on assignments to international sites
- Proficiency in English, Multi-Language skills a plus

You 'll make a difference by
- Installation, Testing & Commissioning of electrical power system equipment such as Switchgears, Power & Distribution Transformers, Protection Relays, Control & Protection Panels etc. in power plants and substations (Utilities, O&G and Industrial Market)
- Conducting testing & commissioning of MV/LV switchgears, Power & Distribution Transformers, Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, and various protection relays.
- Fault Trouble shooting and Analysis for Switchgears, Power & Distribution Transformers & Protection Relays / Systems
- Preparing Method Statement, preparation of NCR / Incident / RCA reports etc.
- Supporting Engineering Manager, project manager for site planning and execution topics
- Training of Operating Personnel at site for commissioned Electrical Equipment
- Following HSE principles and guidelines is a must. Show responsibility at site by adhering to HSE of main contractor.
Your Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor Engineering degree from local or international University or Technical Institute in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering disciplines
- You Bring with a proven experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Min 5 years' hands-on experience with Installation, testing & commissioning of MV/LV switchgears, Power & Distribution Transformers, Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, and various protection relays.
- In depth knowledge of installation of Protection Relays including testing of Overcurrent, Earth fault, Differential, Distance, Under frequency and LIBBP / HIBBP relays in Utility and O&G sectors with 100% success.
- Experience with different manufacturer relays will be a plus.

- Open to travel within the middle east region
- Result driven team player.
- Good communication skills in English language (written and spoken) with the ability to work in a team environment.
