Job Summary.
Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer is accountable for producing and maintaining related deliverables (including, but not limited to Calculations, Datasheets, Technical specifications, Material Requisitions, Technical bid evaluations, Schedules, MTO's, Review GAD's, detail drawings, Work volumes) in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications within the schedule and budget as set-out by the Lead Engineer. It is important to have significant experience working on Onshore/Offshore oil and gas projects and work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, coordinate, mentor and manage discipline teams on projects when needed.
- Ensure safe, effective and successful implementation of Electrical and Instrumentation engineering activities within budget and schedule requirements.
- Participate in engineering assignments such as assisting with the development of specifications, datasheets, calculations, drawings, material take-offs
- Prepare Material requisition, technical bid evaluations and review vendor drawings
- Getting the required inputs from respective disciplines for designing the structures and managing the weight control during various stages of project.
- Giving the inputs to designers for them to prepare the drawing. To lead the designer team and taking ownership of the job given.
- Preparing a design that is most suitable for the intended purpose and that suits to the functional requirement of other disciplines and meet customer needs.
- Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from other parties/execution offices.
- Take part in 3D Model reviews, Construction reviews, Design reviews
- Review materials take-offs and bill of materials. Ensure that the quantities are within budget and any changes are documented with approval from Lead Engineer/ Engineering Manager/Project manager.
- Bring to the attention of the necessary parties, any problems, assistance or matters that may affect quality, deadlines or costs.
- Establish good working relationships and communication with all Leads, Managers and clients.
- Interface with Subcontractors, Suppliers and Vendors for completion of engineering activities
- Assist in the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering activities on projects, tenders under the direction of Lead Engineer
- Adhere to the HSE requirements stipulated by Company/Clients
- Ready to attend the sub-vendor FAT and visit yard during construction and understand improvements needed in design
- Maintain Quality documentation and report any non-compliances for process improvement.
- Undertake any other general duties that may be requested. The list of duties is not exhaustive in any way and may change at any time.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of work experience in the Oil & Gas industry with at least 10 years in similar position i.e. working for EPC Projects in Oil & Gas sector in analysis, design and detailing.
- Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation or Electronics Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
- Ability to demonstrate previous experience in the use of software like AUTOCAD and Navisworks
- Must have good working knowledge of codes and standards (ISA, IEC, BS, ASME, API, ISO, etc.)
- A basic understanding of constructability, operability and maintainability requirements.
- Verbal and written communication using English is compulsory.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
- Should be able to work on fast-track projects and deliver as per project schedule.
- Strong work ethic and proactive drive to deliver projects within schedule.

**Essential Qualifications and Education:**

The Senior Production Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the production discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the production discipline. The Senior Production Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Production Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the production team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Supervise discipline production engineer including identification of production engineer resource needs for the project and communication of these regularly to the Division Production
+ Understand the full contractual scope of work, contract type, and milestone schedule managing the progress and reporting on the project
+ Review constructability and ensure the work execution plan is based on the most productive option
+ Responsible for fabrication 4WLA including the prioritization of materials and drawings to suit and chairing the production 4WLA and forecast fabrication and engineering requirements to meet the project contract schedule
+ Responsible for initiating and approving all revisions orders and change orders ensuring incorporation into the global lessons learned database
+ Solve technical problems and initiate site queries to ensure work disruption is minimized and productivity is optimized
+ Chair the weekly project production meeting, managing the project's weekly fabrication progress and productivity and ensure is within budget
+ Manage any scope of work changes and ensure AFC estimate is up to date and that revision and change orders are initiated
+ Appraise fabrication management of any project issues that affect the forecasted progress, productivity, and schedule commitments
+ Develop a work pack index and set priorities and deliverable dates for the discipline teams
+ Direct the discipline groups with all material ordering priorities and schedule dates to suit the fabrication sequence

+ Support project Operation Engineer to manage inter/intra-functional interfaces and project reporting requirements like AFC estimate review, subcon coordination, project status reporting, developing fabrication sequence, conducting constructability reviews, etc.
+ Lead project constructability reviews on a discipline level including resolution of construction problems with intra/ inter function interfaces
+ Understand the overall project scope of work to lead and guide the discipline production engineering team to meet project fabrication deliverables in line with the fabrication sequence/ schedule
+ Support the Fabrication Bid coordination efforts on assigned Bid projects supporting the Fab Bid Coordinator
