Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a Sr Planning Engineer who will be responsible for planning, scheduling, progress forecasting / reporting and project coordination particularly for Rail Systems & MEP improvements. This role involves working closely with project managers, Contractor's planning teams and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project reporting, slippage and effective schedule management including proper daily / monthly report management.
What You'll Be Doing:
- In this role you will provide critical progress and delay analysis for various phases of civil and rail systems improvements of the existing rail system to assure on-schedule completion within and in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Knowledge of Design & construction of all disciplines- Civil, Arch, MEP, Utilities, Rail systems of Major Metro station improvements
- Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software such as Primavera P6, TILOS or Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of the Construction of traction power substation buildings
- Ensure compliance of project milestones, deliverables, and key activities in the Contractor's schedule in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
- Assist PCM to establish, maintain and monitor Master Schedule providing necessary progress input of all project phases from design through construction and commissioning.
- Implement, review and documents daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Review and approve contractor schedules, ensuring they meet project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with the contractor's planning team to finalize schedules, updated scheduled & other reports.
- Perform what if analysis to foresee the effect of variations and other events
- Maintain and manage key registers as Claim log, Risk / event, stakeholder, Interface etc.
- Sound knowledge of various testing procedure, sequence, challenges and risk associated with rail systems and their proper incorporating in the contractor's schedule
- Identify & suggest corrective actions and recovery plans to mitigate schedule risks and ensure project milestones are met.
- Generate regular schedule reports, including progress updates, critical path analysis, and schedule forecasts.
- Communicate schedule status and key issues to project managers, PCM/Lead Scheduler, clients, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and workshops with project teams, contractor team and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to-date schedule information.
- Ensure that all scheduling activities comply with industry standards, contractual requirements, and company policies.
- Utilize project management software and tools to support data analysis and reporting.
- Utilize critical path method (CPM) and other scheduling techniques to assess project timelines.
- Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activities, including significant milestones and any conditions that could affect project cost or schedule.
- Work with key project staff, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to devise and execute action plans to address potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
- Implement scheduling best practices and methodologies.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project scheduling, with a focus on metro/subway improvements particularly in Rail Systems.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Experience in heavy civil engineering including elevated/ viaduct structures, Tunneling/TBM etc
- GCC experience is preferred.
- Experience on large Rail Infrastructure program is desirable.
- Experience in a consultancy role is highly desirable.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Review and convey Engineer’s consent to the Contractors’ Baseline schedule of works in line with Contract conditions, and using Parsons Recommended Practices.

- Coordination with the Client to finalize the contractor’s programs, reports, and claims.
- Attending various meetings including kick-off, technical, service coordination, progress review, etc, providing valuable inputs, and preparing concise & precise minutes of meetings.
- Preparation of Trackers / Logs to monitor critical issues during the Design and Construction stages of the Project.
- Agree on the progress measurement system (PMS) and key indicators with the consultants/contractors during the project for monitoring purposes.
- Ability to communicate clearly to conduct presentations to management and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals. Provide the reasoned & analytic response to the contractor notices and detailed particulars using programming data, sound construction practices, and contractual provisions.
- Proper record keeping of project contemporary records.
- Issue delay notices for the contractor’s culpable delay and/or slow performance letters recording areas where the contractor’s performance is behind the schedule.
- Be able to manage a team of one or more planning engineers, providing them with technical and leadership skills.
