Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the procurement of electrical packages for a FLNG project.

The role encompasses:

  • Supporting the technical evaluation of bids and reviewing vendor documents.
  • Validating documentation issued by engineering contractors and attending factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
  • Providing support during construction and pre-commissioning, addressing site queries.
  • Assisting with site commissioning and start-up as required.

Requirements:

  • Graduate Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent English language skills and proficiency in French is highly appreciated.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the field.
  • Required experiences:
  • Experience in marine or retrofit projects, including FSO and FPSO.
  • Experience with E-House, including HVAC.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, either for an engineering company or an EPC Contractor.
  • Experience in following up vendors for electrical equipment, such as HV and LV switchgears, transformers, UPS, bulk items, and E-house.
  • Experience in construction follow-up and pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to execute and check calculation notes for cable sizing, short-circuit, motor starting using ETAP software or equivalent.
  • Team player with good problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent written and presentation skills.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Brand Sales Specialist you'll work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM's industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Client Set Management and Value Articulation: Oversee a dedicated client portfolio and convey the distinctive value of IBM's technology at both technical and business levels.

Solution-Selling Expertise in Business Development: Apply solution-selling skills to identify and engage decision makers and influencers, assess business opportunities, and address clients' requirements to establish enduring, strategic partnerships.

End-to-End Sales Process Management: Take charge of the complete sales process, encompassing RFI/RFP response preparation and ensure the attainment of KPIs, with a notable emphasis on new business sales, while also extending services to existing accounts.Collaboration Across IBM Sales Ecosystem: Collaborate with the broader IBM sales ecosystem, from Marketing to Sales and technical colleagues, as well as IBM Business Partners, to formulate sales campaigns and augment the pipeline.

  • Proven Track Record of Success in Technology Sales: A successful track record in technology sales, with a strong emphasis on acquiring new clients.
  • Application of Business and Commercial Acumen: Practical application of business and commercial acumen, able to communicate it effectively at all levels to showcase the operational impact and financial value of technological solutions.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation: Skills that engage, compel, and influence effectively.
Preferred technical and professional experience
  • In-Depth Knowledge of Power: A wide range of expertise regarding Power, enabling to consult and advise clients, and rapidly establish reputation as a credible and trusted advisor for clients (training on IBM's Power offerings will be provided).

A Risk Engineer with a background in Conventional Power and/or Renewables is needed to join this world leader in international Insurance in the UAE. They provide insurance services to high-risk / high hazard sectors including energy, chemicals, marine, mass transport and power.

The business, represented in over 50 countries globally, has a thriving and long-established office in Dubai from where it supports EMEA. The team is growing in response to client demand and a further power specialist with significant experience of conventional power generation operations and /or renewables energy is now sought.

Involvement is offered in a wide range of insurance risk engineering activities within the Power and Renewables sectors, including Insurance underwriting surveys, risk assessments, broking and client technical support, and business development.

The position is on offer on generous local terms. In addition to the salary quoted there is a tax-free allowance for accommodation

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out risk assessments, operational insurance-related site condition surveys, and reviews of new projects for Power & Renewables clients

Supporting the Energy & Power broking and client executive teams in placing risks in international insurance markets

Coordination and execution of engineering support for assigned clients, new business, and prospects in the Energy & Power Practice

Producing reports for underwriters and clients that describe power technical processes and the risk mitigation systems in place.

Comfortable with 60 days of international travel a year (when possible)

Required Skills:

Sound working knowledge of power & renewables technologies, ideally including gas turbines, fossil fuel generating plant, combined cycle plants, hydro plants, wind turbines and combined Solar & Power

Work execution methods and project management practical experience are highly desirable.

Exposure to risk assessed-driven decision-making is essential - relevant to field of expertise.

IT literacy to include general office systems such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Access (or similar)

Experience of technical simulation packages for process modelling, risk assessment, project execution purposes as is relevant to field of expertise.

Enhanced written communication skills, both for routine communications and survey reports.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Required Experience:

Experience working in offshore wind, either for a major contractor, generator/operator, or consultant - experience can be in the operational area or in major project development and execution.

Experience working in thermal power generation, ideally, for a major power generating company.

Experience expected to include coverage of gas turbine technology.

Expertise in the maintenance requirements and failure characteristics of different gas turbine models would be very welcome.

Candidates are encouraged from an operations, / production, maintenance, equipment manufacturer / supply background.
