CREATIVE LAB DESCRIPTION The Creative Lab is a hands-on tinkering and making space for kids and families. The exhibits and activities in the Creative Lab Gallery are designed to facilitate open-ended exploration and creation by children of all ages and their families.
The Creative Lab Team specializes in the development and facilitation of high-quality, hands-on making and tinkering activities for children that take place throughout the museum. These programs range from Drop-In Activities, Weekend Workshops, Holiday/Summer Camps, After School Programs, Field Trip Experiences, Special Events, Off-site Outreach Programs, Corporate Team Building, and more.
From high tech to low tech, and the artistic to the engineered, we teach kids and families how to tinker, design, make, and create together.
POSITION OVERVIEW The Creative Lab Manager will oversee all of the exhibits, activities, and operations of the Creative Lab Gallery. This includes the day-to-day setup of the gallery, as well as the maintenance, repair, and continual improvement of its exhibits and activities. The Creative Lab Manager will train museum staff on how to facilitate these different exhibits and activities. The Creative Lab is the hub for art supplies, tools, and materials for the entire museum, and the Creative Lab Manager will be in charge of the organization and management of all of these supplies.
The Creative Lab Manager will assist the Director of the Creative Lab in all aspects of Creative Lab programming, from ordering and preparing materials to teaching workshops, camps, classes, and facilitating other types of events. The Creative Lab Manager, with the assistance of the Director of the Creative Lab, will also have the opportunity to develop new exhibits, activities, tinkering experiences, camps, workshops, and other programs.
The Creative Lab Manager will work towards OliOli’s vision of creating awesome experiences and memories for children, acting as OliOli’s brand ambassador, with the primary objective of engaging with all visitors in an empathetic, thoughtful, and joyful manner.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain all daily operations of the gallery:
○ Prepare, setup, repair, and improve all of the activities and exhibits in the Creative Lab.
○ Train and help museum floor staff on how to facilitate these activities in the Creative Lab.
○ Manage, purchase, track, and organize all the tools and materials of the Creative Lab.
○ Help keep the gallery, its classroom, cabinets, and work areas neat and tidy.
- Assist in all aspects of Creative Lab programming:
○ Help with the setting up, preparation, and facilitation of all Creative Lab programs, including but not limited to, weekend workshops, holiday camps, school group workshops, offsite events, and museum-wide activations.
○ With the assistance of the Director of the Creative Lab, prototype and develop new exhibits and activities for the Creative Lab Gallery as well as develop new workshops, camps, and other programs.
○ Ensure safe use of tools and machines by visitors and colleagues.
○ Support other museum colleagues as needed for special events and programs.
- Improve communication with visitors to the Creative Lab:
○ With the assistance of the Director of the Creative Lab, develop and implement new signage and instructional videos for our exhibits and activities.
○ Help develop new ways to get feedback from visitors.
○ Assist in developing new ways to track visitor numbers to the Creative Lab Gallery and our programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong interest in prototyping and making.
- Ability to learn technical skills quickly.
- Fluency with using computers and G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Etc).
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact positively with children, adults, and large groups.
- Experience working with young children (ages 2-13) and their families in informal or formal education settings.
- Experience developing and facilitating lesson plans, curriculum, classes, activities, or workshops for kids.
- Ability to work with diverse staff and visitors.
- Excellent grasp of the English language. Arabic is a plus.
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS Candidates should have basic understanding of, and experience with, at least 3 of the following:
- Vector-based digital design programs (Illustrator or Inkscape).
- Digital Fabrication with a Laser Cutter.
- Simple 3D modeling (TinkerCAD or Sketch Up).
- Basic block-based coding (MakeCode and Scratch).
- Microcontrollers (Arduino, micro:bit, Raspberry Pi).
- Hand tools and small power tools (Hammers, Saws, Clamps, Drills).
MOVING
- This position would require moving to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

- The role is expected to be physically demanding and the candidate must have the physical and emotional capacity to deal with the role’s requirements.
- This position requires the ability to do one or more of the following throughout the day: stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach above and below shoulder level, carry objects of differing sizes and weights. Involves frequent repetitive motion.
- The noise level in the work environment is highly variable, from quiet to loud.
- The working timings include morning and/or evening shifts. Weekends and holidays work are required.
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
- Working weekends (Fridays and Saturdays) is a requirement for this position. Off days will be on weekdays (Sunday – Thursday). Scheduling will be coordinated with the Director of the Creative Lab.
- School and government holidays are the busiest times for any museum. All employees must be prepared to plan their vacations for different periods of time.

SALARY AND BENEFITS Salary will range from AED 12K – 14K a month depending on experience. Benefits:

The Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) is Amazon’s custom prototyping and development team for brands and their advertising agencies. We focus on the conception and execution of branded custom experiences across Amazon properties.
The Senior Solution's Manager of the MENA region Brand Innovation Lab Team will partner with internal teams to lead key accounts, and scope, pitch and execute one-of-a-kind campaigns for some of the world’s most valuable brands. Through excellence in strategic thinking, relationship management and project management this role will raise the creative bar for brands and their customers. As the Market's Solutions Manager you will be the go-to person for partner teams and to lead clients towards innovative ideas.
The BIL Sr Solutions Manager helps the team navigate never-been-done-before situations and build lasting relationships with Advertising clients by partnering to address business and marketing challenges.
The Sr Solutions Manager will also work closely with creative and technical peers within the Brand Innovation Lab and other partner teams (e.g., Alexa, AWS, Prime Video, Twitch).
The BIL Sr Solutions Manager will use custom tools like Asana, Salesforce, and other pre-sale scoping mechanisms to help the entire team “see around corners” to avoid pitfalls, delays, and mistakes while realizing the full creative potential of the Amazon canvas.
The BIL Sr Solutions Manager will be comfortable working with data to find insights and write briefs that bring out the best in our creative team.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, agile leader with experience partnering with Creative, Technical and Sales teams to deliver bar-raising results for advertisers. Key job responsibilities
- Build relationships with Advertising clients as a partner in addressing their business and marketing challenges, helping them navigate the Amazon Canvas and unlock customer-centric innovation.
- Work with Sales Leads and Directors to help them understand where their business can benefit from Brand Innovation Lab, while identifying opportunities for BIL to innovate to help drive incremental revenue.
- Learn about new opportunities within and outside Amazon to inspire and push the Creative team to take full advantage of Amazon channels and products.
- Play a frontline role in leading the development of pitches and proposals to Advertising clients.
- Manage the intake vs. available resourcing process, striking the balance of saying “yes” to finding alternative solutions.
- Utilize the team’s Salesforce and Asana systems ensuring data quality and output.
- Foster internal relationships both on an individual level and on behalf of Brand Innovation Lab.
A day in the life
You'll partner with Art Directors, design technologists, program managers and producers to create innovative work by hacking the Amazon canvas (Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, etc). You'll work on projects that benefit the end customer while pushing the creative envelope. And with new tech rolling out all the time, there's always an opportunity to create something innovative on behalf of our clients.
Some days you'll be helping set strategy for a key project, others you'll be project managing a complex never-been-done-before project removing ambiguity and laying a path for the team to succeed.
Leading the team locally you'll inspire partners to think creatively and help change the rhythm of the market to focus on the new vision of innovation in the market.
You'll be leading pitches to senior stakeholders and evangelizing the role of creativity in driving business outcomes and improved customer experiences.
You'll be able to wear many hats to get the best creative outcome from project managing, strategy to digital and video production.
About the team
The Brand Innovation Lab team is the internal group within Amazon that creates one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for global advertisers, like Nivea, Lego, McDonald's, Qatar Airways, and Mars.
Using all of the different platforms within the Amazon canvas (Custom landing pages on Amazon Twitch, events etc.), we create campaigns that reach millions of Amazon customers across our digital channels and out in the real-world.
In MENA we're a small and scrappy team that is still building the future of Brand Innovation Lab in the region.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of digital advertising and client-facing roles with a focus on data analysis experience
- Experience with annual brand and media planning
- Experience in a client-facing consultative role working with large, complex enterprise customers
