Position Overview
The Safety Manager shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures. As a key member of the management team, the Safety Manager ensures compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and client requirements while fostering a culture of safety across all project sites. This role reports directly to the General Manager and serves as a strategic advisor on safety-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Ensure compliance with national and local occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provide safety training, inductions, and awareness programs for staff, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments on project sites to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Intervene and stop unsafe work activities; ensure safe working conditions before work resumes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and supervisors to integrate safety requirements into project planning and execution.
- Prepare and present HSE performance reports to the General Manager and senior leadership.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHAD, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) preferred.
- 7–10 years of relevant HSE experience in the infrastructure, construction, or contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety regulations, codes, and best practices.
- Proven track record in developing and managing safety management systems (SMS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and drive a strong safety culture across the organization
