The Design Engineer - Custom Composite Structures is responsible for the design, analysis, and certification of reinforced thermoset plastic (RTP) vessels and piping systems in accordance with ASME RTP-1, ASME NM.2, and EN 13121 standards. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design and laminate mechanics, coupled with practical knowledge of composite fabrication methods such as filament winding and contact molding. The engineer will perform detailed stress and strain analysis, develop laminate stacking sequences, and validate designs through both analytical and test-based methods. This position also supports the preparation of Fabricator's Design Reports (FDRs), ensures compliance with ASME quality programs, and provides direct engineering support to manufacturing and inspection teams. This is a key technical position that directly impacts product reliability, regulatory compliance, and manufacturability. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project engineers, QA/QC, and production to deliver high-integrity composite systems that meet customer and code requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and certify design calculations, drawings, and specifications for composite pressure vessels and piping systems per ASME RTP-1, ASME NM.2, EN 13121, and related standards (BS 4994, API 15LR/15HR).
  • Prepare and maintain the Fabricator's Design Report (FDR) in compliance with the User's Basic Requirements Specification (UBRS) and ASME Quality Control procedures.

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Inspection, and Manufacturing to ensure design execution and documentation meet ASME audit and customer requirements.

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for an E&I Planner.

Responsibilities:

  • Must possess a good knowledge in using Computer and good ability in activity scheduling. Familiar with MS Office, CMMS System i.e. Maximo, SAP etc. MS project & Primavera knowledge is an added advantage
  • Responsible to day to day Planning and generate reports as and when needed.
  • Responsible to day to day Job planning & Scheduling including resource identifying & loading in CMMS.
  • Coordination with multi disciplines for routine planning & shutdown jobs.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Respective Engineering or Equivalent (preferably).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in planning and scheduling. Knowledge in SAP is an added advantage.
  • Excellent English communication verbal & written.
  • Age between 25 to 50 yrs.
